Hello stamping friends!

Well yesterday was my birthday. 43...who cares, really? It was a strange birthday. Instead of celebrating my birthday, I took my husband to the airport so he could help his sister get ready for their mother's Memorial service on Saturday. Yes, my Mother-in-Law passed away last Wednesday. It was a short battle, but she lost her fight against lung cancer. She passed away less than a year after we lost my Father-in-Law. Although we are sad to loose Nana, we are glad knowing that she is reunited with her soul mate and is in the presence of Jesus now. 

Here's a picture of Nana with my husband and kids when she was here for Mother's day. This was a few weeks before she was diagnosed...

Birthday for Nana

Hello Stamping Friends!

I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was VERY busy. My daughter's birthday was last Wednesday, but we spent the weekend celebrating since she spent her actual birthday at school and soccer practice. Friday night we went to the Melting Pot for some fondue dinner (her choice). Saturday, she had a soccer game in Jekyll Island, GA. So we spent the rest of the afternoon at Jekyll Island and St. Simon Island, Ga with her BFF.

She played Goaltender for two quarters (which is a new position for her)...

On Sunday, we had some of her classmates over to go to the pool. They got ahold of my waterproof camera, so it was filled with fun selfies that the girls (and my son) took.

Today I am sharing a card I made for my Mother-in-Law's birthday last week. If you would, please keep her in your prayers. She is battling lung cancer that has spread to her brain and she's not doing well. any prayers would be appreciated. 

This is Puppy Luv from Saturated Canary. I know it's supposed to be a "romance" image, however, I think it's a cute image with a boy and girl that actually resemble both my son and daughter (seriously, look at the picture above of my son and daughter on top of the lighthouse - you can see Ansley's braid pony tail in the soccer picture)!!

I also used  Party Banner, Frantage, Black Pearls, and lots of Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers.

My baby is 12!!

Hello stamping friends!!

Today is my daughter's birthday. I can't believe she is 12! 

(From first day of school last month).

I made her this card using one of the new Saturated Canary stamps...

This is Piper from Saturated Canary. The background paper is from Tigerlilly along with Heart Banner Die, High-Rise Numbers Die, Feathers, Frantage, and lots of Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers.  

The image was embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os and Copics (hair)... 

My pictures never really show the sparkle on the cards so I took one at a different angle (using my phone) that hopefully shows the sparkle... 

You can see the light shining off the heat embossing of the hair of the image; the glitter cardstock used on the banner, 12, and heart; the gold and white frantage around the image, and the foil paper (the pink part) of the background paper. 

Since her birthday falls on a weekday with school, homework, and soccer practice, we will celebrate her birthday this weekend. However, I did bring cupcakes to school and ate lunch with her. I made her a dinner she requested (Baked Ziti). And even more cupcakes for her soccer team at practice.

School House Mouse

Hello stamping Friends!

Sorry this is late. We are crazy busy right now. I went out of town for a few days to visit my MIL who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to her brain. We wanted to take the kids to see her before school started. We had a LONG drive yesterday and today was filled with doctor's appointments and school orientations. My son goes back to school tomorrow and my daughter goes back on Wednesday. There was still so much that needed to get done.

I hope you had a nice weekend. My hubby was out of town all week helping his mom in TN. I'm so happy he's home; it was a long week. I can't believe we only have 2 weeks left of summer! My son goes back to school on the 12th and my daughter goes back on the 13th. We have a few more fun "field trips" we have planned so we need to get a move on; we are running out of time!

Just Dance

I have to be honest, I'm really frustrated with typepad lately! I know they are having problems with hackers disabling their system, but I PAY for this service and I'm tired of my blog not working! This post was supposed to be posted yesterday, but when I went to finish the post, I didn't have access to my blog! I would switch to blogger or wordpress, but 7 years worth of blogging is hard to move to a new blog!

Anyway, I made a card on commission for a friend.She used this card I made for my daugther for her birthday as the inspiration...

Sisters

Hello stamping friends!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. We had a nice quiet one. It was raining most of the weekend so the kids and I had a marathon of Harry Potter Movies! We watched #3, 4, and 5 yesterday (we had already watched #1 and 2 earlier in the week.

Today I have a card to share that I made on commission for a friend. She wanted a card for her sister and I thought this image would be cute...

This is Queenie and Princess from Saturated Canary along with Heart Banner Die, Teal Pearls, Bride Bow DooHickey from Magnolia, Frantage, Feathers, and lots of Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers: Blue and Green Chrysanthemums, Open Roses, Cherry Blossom, and Tulips. 

The image was embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os... 

I LOVE how it turned out. I'm starting to become very partial to the color combo of Teal, Lime Green and Black!

Stamp and Create with Magnolia Challenge: Fancy Folds

Hello stamping friends!

I hope you had a great week. Wednesday was my son's last day of school. They had awards ceremony on Tuesday and he received an award for All A's 4th Quarter, A/B Honor Roll for the whole year (he only received 2 B's the whole year), a Metal for 5 in FCAT in Math (Statewide standardized testing; he only got one or two wrong on the whole test), and a Metal for 5 in FCAT in English (again, got the best score just short of a perfect score). We are so proud of him. Now if only he could just sit still in school! LOL

It was a really great year!

Now summer break is in full swing. This summer I will be watching my friend's kids all summer. We will be going on some fun field trips as well as just hanging at the pool or the house. Therefore, I am reducing my hours to part time. I will still get orders shipped out, however, I might not be spending as much time on other things. Luckily I have a bunch of cards that have already been made which will be posted later.

Stamp and Create June Challenge: Thank You, Teach!

Hello stamping friends!

I hope you had a nice weekend. My husband was out of town for his annual "college guys weekend". Every year he meets up with 3 of his college buddies. They all live in a different State and they rotate who's house they go to. This year, it was South Carolia. While he was gone, the kids and I did a few things together, watched a few movies, went out to dinner with friends, went to church, and went to a friend's son's Graduation party.

Ansley is done with school. Friday was her last day. They had an awards ceremony and Ansley received an award for A/B Honor Roll for the 4th Quarter then another award for A/B Honor Roll for the whole year (she actually got All A's in the 1st Quarter). Afterward, they had an ice cream party. He she is with her teacher...

Ryan still has a few more days left of school this week.

Forget Me Knot Tilda

Hello stamping friends!

Today is Ansley's last day of school! I can't believe the Summer is here. Ryan still has a few days left of school next week. Therefore, Ansley and I will have some one-on-one time for a few days. Then I will be watching my "after school" kids all summer. We have lots of fun field trips planned. It will be crazy having 4 kids all day, but I know it will be a lot of fun. 

Last week we had a new challenge at the Stamp and Create with Magnolia Blog. The challenge theme is: CAS. Now, I don't make the most elaborate cards in the stamping world, but CAS is not really something I like to do. I do make more CAS Christmas cards so that they are easier to mail. But as a standard, I prefer to add some embellishments. 

Therefore, after taking a picture of this card for the CAS challenge...

I pulled out my embellishments and finished off the card to my liking...

I actually made this card for a neighbor who purchased this for her mother for Mother's Day.

The image is Forget Me Knot Tilda from Magnolia. The papers are from my stash. I added some Frantage, feathers, Pearls, headpin, and lots of Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers: Pink Carnation, Pink Cottage Roses, Open Roses, Hip Roses, and Leaves.
