It's been a long time since I have played along with the Wags 'n Whiskers Challenges. My daughter had some friends over to the community pool to celebrate her brithday so she asked me to make some invitations. I had the perfect image in mind from Wags 'n Whiskers so I figured I would play along.

Sorry for the poor pictures. I finished them late at night and she left with them early in the morning for school. Apparently the camera had a finger print on the lens so the left side of the pictures are blurry. By the time I noticed them, she was already gone with the invitations.

I hope you all have a long weekend this weekend. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't have off today so it's just a normal weekend for him. However, the kids are off today and my daughter also has off on Monday. It's a rainy weekend here in North Florida. We wanted to go to the pool today, but looks like it might be a movie day instead. On Monday my daughter and I will have half of the day to ourselves so I'm sure there will be some shopping in voloved! ;-)

The new Magnolia Animal of the Year release is supposed to arrive today. They haven't arrived yet which means I most likely won't be able to get pre-orders in the mail today. Therefore, I will make sure to ship them out on Saturday instead. I can't wait to ink up a few myself!

I was born in the year of the Pig (nice, maybe that's why I like food)!

How is your week going? Mine seemed to blur by! Where does the time go? We have a very busy weekend coming up. Tonight I have Bunco with some of my friends - it's always a fun night. On Saturday we will be at the ball fields all day long. Ansley's team has pictures at 8:00am (need to be there at 7:45) then a game from 9am-10:30. Ryan has pictures at 2:00 (need to be there at 1:45) then a game from 3pm-4:30pm. I'm going to be one tired and stinky mom!! LOL Then on Sunday we have church and life group/bible study. One weekend we need to have off so we can get some yard work done! Maybe one day soon.
We interrupt this program...I am writing this post during American Idol and all I can say is WOW!!! That was shocking and ridiculous! Not that Jessica was almost voted off, but the reaction of the judges. My husband was fuming that they were so unprofessional!! Jessica is NOT my favorite and I wouldn't have voted for her...and obviously I'm not the only one since she didn't get the votes this week. But this is "AMERICAN IDOL", NOT JLo, Randy and Steven Idol! America voted...and didn't vote for Jessica!! Sorry, but if it was Colton, Phillip, or Skyler, I doubt they would have saved them! Personally Jessica and Joshua need to go.
Well at least the "save" is gone and now America's votes will count!

I needed to bring a gift to Bunco tonight that begins with the letter "P" for the Bunco Basket (the person with the last "Bunco" of the night wins the basket).
So for my gift, I'm bringing a "Pink Box of cards"...
I figure I have some cards on hand so it would make an easy gift! However, it took 4 tries before I got the measurements for the box correct!! UG!!
I used some White Silk ribbon, The Bow Easy, pearl swirls, and pom pom ribbon.

Well, I had a heck of a week! Tuesday night I went to the Jimmy Buffet Concert with a few friends. The concert wasn't until 8pm, but we got there at 2pm. Let's just say that drinking 8 hours straight, beer, jello shots, and some evil creation called "Drunkin' Gummy Bears" is a deadly combination - when consumed on a Tuesday, it will "kill" your Wednesday! Yep, that's right, I had a NASTY hangover on Wednesday!
But by Thursday morning I was fine and dandy and worked hard to get caught up on orders.
Luckily I already had this project done so I didn't miss out on the fun!

This is a fun challenge and I had a few ideas. However, I was in need of a non-holiday banner to hang in the house so this was the perfect time...
This is Bear Hug which was designed after my daughter Ansley.
And this one is Super Ryan which was designed after my son Ryan.
The images were stamped in Stampin' Up Basic Brown ink onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os.
The papers are from my stash (not who they are from, but I got them at AC Moore). I also added a few flowers and used some Brown Check Ribbon to hang the banner.
The letters were die cut from a sizzix alphabet set.

Well, it's finally time to get back into the swing of our normal routine! The kids went back to school yesterday after having almost 3 full weeks off! We had a great Holiday season but it is always great to have a quiet house to myself again! :-)
It's crazy, though, that that the post office clerk told me we were about to have another postal holiday! I said "what?!!" Apparently Martin Luther King is earlier than normal this year - or maybe it just seems that way? But on Jan 16th there's no school or mail again! Basically after being off school for almost 3 weeks, they go to school for 2 days, have a weekend off, go back for a week, then have a 3 day weekend!
Anyway, it's time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge! It seems like it's been forever that I have been able to have my DT card done on time! I guess it's a good thing that I'm one of the WnW bosses, right?! LOL

Since the Holiday supplies were still out on my desk and I was short a few Christmas cards this year, I decided that it's NEVER too early to make Christmas cards! So I pulled out the adorable Hannah Fairy. And turned her in a little Santa's helper!!
I used mostly white cardstock (the one layer embossed with a cuttle bug snowflake folder), but added some red paper from Echo Park Dots and Stripes. The snowflakes are Layers Snowflake Dies from Whimsy Stamps and covered with Star Dust Stickles. They are paired with some pearls and White Silk ribbon using the Bow Easy.
Hannah was embossed in black onto watercolor paper, watercolored with Twinkling H2Os, cut out, and attached with dimensionals...
I added liquid pearls to the white part of her dress.

I had a VERY busy, but fun weekend. Went to a great party on Saturday night. I didn't sleep well (I usually don't sleep well when I drink) so I was a bit tired on Sunday. Therefore, this is going to be a short "chat" post (because I'm exhausted). I also have to get ready to host a Poker Party on Saturday so I will probably be scarce on the blog this week. I've been working on making window treatments to finally finish decorating the downstairs (we've now been in the house for 9 months so it's about time to have this place decorated, right?) and that has been taking up a lot of my spare time. Plus, I can not believe Christmas is in less than 2 weeks! Where did the time go?! Still so much to do!

Hello stamping friends!!
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!! We sure did! Since we didn't have family in town and we didn't go out of town ourselves, we went to a friend's house for dinner. Scott helped deep-fry the turkeys (they cooked two) and it was sooo yummy! Let's not talk about the small fire, though!! (wink)
No, I did NOT go out on Black Friday! I can not stand big crowds, rude people, or long lines so we stayed far away from the stores! We did put up the inside Christmas decorations (at least most of them). Friday night my husband went out with some of his guy friends so I took the kids to the movies to see Arthur Christmas. It is such a cute movie! There were many "laugh-out loud" moments. Since my husband didn't get to see it, I wouldn't doubt that we will go see it again before Christmas, it really was super cute!
On Saturday morning my husband helped me rearrange my craft room. Then I spent the rest of the day organizing the craft room and store room. Finally things have a "place"! When we moved in in March, the movers asked me where I wanted my heavy desk - apparently I didn't want it where I told them to put it but it was too heavy to deal with until I couldn't stand it any longer! I still need to decorate the room. My husband said there is too much furniture to move to attempt to paint the room at the moment so it will stay the "builder beige" for a little longer. But I can add some curtains and decorative elements to help dress it up. I took some pictures so I will try to post those later this week.
Then on Sunday I had to relax and recover from the busy weekend!

It's been a busy week for me so far. I have this post scheduled since Thursday night (when I would normally do this post) I am at the Duran Duran concert in St. Augustine, FL!! I hope my camera worked and that I will be able to post pictures for you. Although, we are seated towards the back so not sure how good the pictures will be!! By the time you read this post, I might have gotten up to get the kids to school but then crawled right back into bed for a few more hours!! LOL
Tomorrow is Ryan's birthday party. We are going to a place called Adventure Landing. The kids will get to ride go-carts, play mini-golf, play laser tag, and play lots of video games!! I'll try to post his birthday party invitations tomorrow.

I decided to use the sweet and sexy Rhiannon. This card is actually a birthday card for the FABULOUS Nikki! I really hope it has arrived by now!! Her birthday was on Tuesday, but I mailed it a little late.
The papers are My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose Hattie. I also added used the Teardrop Lace die by CC Designs and Pennant Banner Die from Whimsy Stamps.
I created a "center step card" (I was learned this card design as a Zig Zag Card, but have been since told it's called a Center Step Card).

Wow! It's been a crazy week for me!! I honestly don't know where the week went!

Hello stamping friends!!
It's been a crazy week!! My husband was out of town for 3 days - of which the kids had soccer practice. So after dealing with the store, homework, and dinner - I also had to take 2 kids to soccer practice every night then come home to get showers and bedtime routine done! I don't know how single mom's do it! Honestly, I'm pooped!!
We also have a busy weekend planned. I will probably have to take a nap to keep up with it!! LOL

Ansley was invited to a birthday party this weekend. So I thought it was time to pull out Ansley's Surprise again! This image is perfect for girls birthdays. But did you know it was designed as a Christmas stamp? It works for both occasions.
I used some My Mind's Eye Life of the Party paper. I just LOVE the colors in this pad!! I also used some pearls, pink wrinkle ribbon, and lace.
The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.
The image was embossed in black, watercolored with Twinkling H2Os, then cut out and attached with dimensionals.

Usually I don't like these types of challenges unless I can make a scrapbook page. But this challenge came at the right time for me. We're redecorating my daughter Ansley's room and she needed something to hang above her chest of drawers. Since the Wags 'n Whiskers Angels were designed based on Ansley, I thought it would be a good idea to create a wall hanging for her room...
I printed Bear Hugs Digital Stamp onto Watercolor Paper at 9" tall. I colored the image with Twinkling H2Os to match her new bedspread (a lot harder to do on the larger scale) and mounted it onto some awesome Glitter Cardstock from American Crafts (I get mine from my local A.C. Moore). I punched out some lime green circles (1/2", 1", and 1 1/4" Stampin' Up punches) and attached them with scor-tape.
When it was finished, I put it in a 12"x12" shadowbox frame...
Here's a sneak peek of her new room design. We're not finished and we don't want our friends to see it until her birthday party on September 10th.

I hope you all are having a great week so far. I can't believe the first week of school is almost done! We have a busy weekend planned with some fun activities with friends. So not much relaxing will be happening this weekend. But it's all good.
Today is a new Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge. I'm your hostess this week and my challenge is:
Outdoor Fun
Let's see your creation using some sort of Outdoor Fun activity.

For my project, I decided to create another scrapbook page (figure I have enough cards and I'm really behind in scrapbooking)...
I actually made this over the summer, but held onto it for this challenge. This is a layout about our Father's Day trip to the Baseball park!! We have minor league baseball here in Jacksonville. It's much more low-key than a Major League game, but we still had a great time.

The paper is an old Stampin' Up set. I thought the stripes reminded me of a baseball uniform.

I used Home Run embossed in black, watercolored with Twinkling H2Os, cut out, and attached with dimensionals.
The sun was cut using a free Silhouette image, cut out in cardstock, then I stitched some embossing thread along the edges. I'll be honest that it was a total fluke that each ray of the sun had the stitching in the same places!! I was sure that I would end up with some odd stitch, but it all worked out!
I created a tag-like journaling on the computer. It lists the purchases of the day resembling one of the those credit card commercials..."tickets, $x, parking $x, Popcorn, $x, Father's Day at the park...Priceless..."
The title was first cut with the silhouette. then I tacked them to a scrap piece of cardstock and ran it through my Fiscars Crimper. I removed the title from the cardstock and attached it to the layout using dimensionals.
I really like how this turned out!! It was a really great day at the ballpark, too!!

Hello stamping friends!
The kids and I had a great time tubing on Friday with our church at the Ichetucknee Springs Park. Scott had to work so he couldn't join us. I rented a small inflatable boat as well as an inner-tube. Ansley spent most of the time in the tube and Ryan spent most of the time in the boat with me (and freaking out every time Ansley was a few feet away - he worries a bit)!
Today, the kids and I are driving 5 hours to South Florida to visit more family and friends - one last trip before the kids go back to school on the 16th. We will be home Friday night.
Here are some quick pictures from our tubing trip on Friday...

After tubbing, we went to the natural Spring. This watering hole was FREEZING!! Seriously, I broke out in a rash from the extreme cold. The picture above are some of our friends we went with. The kids are on the rocks but the blue water behind them was very deep - very clear and beautiful, but very deep.

Well, it's been a much crazier week that it was supposed to have been. As I mentioned earlier, Ansley is at Horse Riding Camp this week. The ranch is about 25 min away so it's an almost hour drive round trip to get her there at 8am then again at 2pm to pick her up. So that's almost 2 hours a day just to get her to and from camp. So much for thinking it would be nice to have her in camp this week thinking I would get a lot accomplished! Plus we had eye doctor appointments for me, Ansley, and Ryan on Wednesday and a birthday party last night.
Of course, I had to go hang out yesterday to get some pictures of her riding....
I took most of the pictures on my Canon Rebel with zoom lens. But that camera is not compatible with my computer so I have to use my husband's computer to download them from the camera. That means it takes a little longer to download the pictures since I have to wait until his computer is available. However, I did take a picture using my little camera so that I could something right away.
On the picture above, Ansley is riding a horse named "Dolly". The blond horse to the left is "Sonic". Ansley and her friend brought their horses over to the gate so Ryan could see them.
He looks thrilled doesn't he?! Can't even put down his DSi game!! LOL Actually that was after he got to pet them...
Ryan loves Mario and Sonic video games so he was excited to me a real "Sonic"! :-)

While we were at Hammock Beach Resort on 4th of July weekend, they had a kids activity called "Build-a-friend". It's the same concept as Build-a-Bear, but on a lesser scale.
The kids picked out an animal, stuffed it, and gave it some love adding a little angel to watch over it. They gave them a "birth certificate" and they got to color a little T-shirt for it. It was a fun activity for them.
The papers are from my stash. Plus I used some Vintage Buttons, White Silk Ribbon, and pearls. The image is Wags 'n Whiskers Best Friends Forever.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend so far! We've had a fun weekend with a friend's birthday party and then "game night" with two other families. But, man, now I'm exhausted. I'm watching the Women's World Cup at the moment, and just praying that the US is able to win!
Since I'm not very goo at doing one thing at a time well, I decided to make my nephew's birthday card while watching the soccer game.

My nephew is having is birthday party at a go-cart place. So I thought Speed Racer by Wags 'n Whiskers would be a perfect image for his card. I added the fire from High Hopes Dragon's Finger set.
The papers are the new Splash by Echo Park. I also added some Basic Gray buttons, Kaisercraft rhinestones, punched stars, embossing thread, and die cut "6". The sentiment is Buddy's Birthday Sentiment from High Hopes.

I printed the image onto watercolor paper, colored her with Twinkling H2Os, and cut her out before adding her to the card with dimensionals...
I got a new sewing machine for Christmas last year, but never opened it until after we moved. Then I tried to sew on a scrapbook layout over a month ago and it wasn't working correctly. I finally figured out what was wrong this week...the needle must have gone through some glue on that layout because it was sticky and kept messing up the stitches. I swapped out the needle and ta-da...all fixed!! Yeah!!

As you probably already know, blogger is down. Therefore the challenge post and most of the DT have been unable to finish their posts. Hopefully it will be back up soon! Please check back later to see the rest of the team's cards and to participate in this week's challenge.
TGIF!!! Actually, this is going to be a fun but crazy weekend. It's my husband's turn to host his "guys weekend" with 3 of his former college buddies. A few years ago, they all met together at a friend's funeral (died from a military accident in San Diego) and they decided that each year they were going to get together to hang out and catch up with each other. Each year they rotate who hosts the weekend. That means every 4 years, Scott has to host.
The last time he hosted, my kids were only 2 and 4 so I just went away for the weekend to visit my father. This year, however, the kids are in school so I can't just leave and get out of the way. Ryan has a school field trip tomorrow along with a TBall game on Saturday so we have to stick around.
But it will be a fun weekend for me and the kids. As long as I don't loose my mind, we will have friends come over tomorrow night (the guys will be out most of the day driving down to Daytona and St. Augustine). On Saturday, we are going to a carnival, Ryan's TBall game at 5pm, then off to a "kids only" party in the neighborhood (which means, I get to hang out with some of the ladies while the kids are at the party).
On sunday, we'll do our regular routine of bible study and church (at least the kids and I will).
So pray that I have enough energy to keep up with the kids this weekend and that we don't have a repeat visit to the Emergency Room like the last time Scott hosted the guys weekend. You can read about it a little here.
