Stamp and Create Challenge: Stitch it up

Hello stamping friends!!

Sorry I have been so absent this Summer, but it is what it is!! Only another week before school starts back up for my kids!! I think I can make it without loosing my mind!! LOL I'm looking forward to getting back into a normal routine. 

But first, we will have one last unplanned trip to Tennessee this weekend. My FIL received some bad news regarding his battle with cancer last week. So we are going to make a trip up there this weekend while the kids still have a few days off before school starts. Please keep my FIL, my husband, and their family in your prayers.

Party Hard!!

Well, this post is hopefully scheduled on time because I am currently in New York City with the family!! We will be home later this week. But in the mean time, I'm sure we are having a good time! :-)

Stamp and Create Challenge- Bold and Bright

Hello stamping Friends!!

Well the Summer Break began for my kids last week. Therefore, my time is now shared between running the store and entertaining my kids. I totally forgot to get the Stamp and Create Monthly Challenge last week!! But it is now up at the Stamp and Create Blog. 

But the chaos of Summer has already begun. The kids are in a part-time camp this week so I can get some work done and they can have some fun without being stuck in front of the TV all day!! It's been crazy wet and rainy since the Tropical Storm Beryl moved in Memorial Day weekend. I swear it's poured almost every day since!! But today was a beautiful day so after camp (and a trip to the post office), we went to the pool. But it's supposed to rain again tomorrow! :-(

Anyway, since it's going to be hard to me to keep up with everything with the kids under-toe, we will postpone the weekly Product Spotlight Sales for the Summer at Stamp and Create. We will have some random sales over the Summer so there is still savings to be had!! 

Please note that even though we won't have our weekly Product Spotlight Sales, many of our products are discounted on a regular basis - we have some of the lowest prices for on-line stores!!

Stamp and Create Challenge: For the ladies

Hello stamping friends!!

Well once again I am behind! I probably need to change the day of the week that I do the Stamp and Create product spotlight and challenges!! I seems that my weekends are too busy so I can't get all of the work/posts done before Monday. Then Monday comes and I have all of the weekend orders that need to take priority! 

Anyway, we had a lovely weekend. I got to sleep in a little on Saturday (which is always needed). I ran a few errands then went to Ryan's last regular season T-Ball game (they are now in the playoffs) followed by a neighbor's birthday party/Cinco de Mayo party. On Sunday we had church and Ryan had a birthday party so Scott took him to the party (it was at a video game/laser tag/putt putt golf place) and Ansley and I spent the afternoon shopping! I had a few coupons that were only valid for the weekend so it was a perfect time to stock up on some shorts for Summer and some fun new sandals. Ansley got a pair of sandals, a new shirt, gift cards for her teachers for teacher appreciation week, and some yummy ice cream!! So even though I also dragged her to the grocery store, I think she was still happy with our fun afternoon.

Oh, and we went to Outback for lunch! Our local Outback is only open for Lunch on Sundays. We both LOVE their Seared Tuna appetizer so we each got one and shared a side salad. It was a perfect light lunch.

Ok, so I mentioned that this weekend was Ryan's last T-Ball game. All of the teams will participate in the playoffs so that means we still have at least another game...if we win, we will have even more games. But it's time to start planning the "end of season party". Of course the team mom is in charge of that - and I'm not the team mom (luckily I was too busy with Ansley's softball team having games/practices that conflicted with Ryan's schedule so I was able to get out of being the team mom). When we have the end of season party, we usually do something nice for the coaches which means we need a card to give them as well! I have those made and will share them next week. However, I wanted to make a card for the team mom as well since she works just as hard keeping the kids under control in the dug-out. 

All of the teams in our league use names from the Professional Baseball teams and our team are the 'Pirates" with the colors of the Pittsburg Pirates - Black and Yellow. 

I went through my stamps and found the perfect female pirate stamp for the Team Mom's card...

This is Alicia the Strawberry Pirate from Kraftin' Kimmie. Isn't she perfect? Cute and "mean" at the same time - I mean, come on, you can't be a team mom if you let the kids walk all over you; you need to be a little tough as well!! However, I didn't really like that she was standing on skulls (this is a 6-7 year old T-ball team, we don't need to be too scary!!) so I covered the skulls with some fun flowers to match the team's colors.

The wood papers are Miss Carolina Dolled Up and flags came from Echo Park This & That Charming.I also used Magnolia Cloud & Flag DooHickey, High Hopes Treasure Map stamp, Anchor Charm, pearls, and Net Ribbon.

The sentiment was created on the computer and made to look like a rolled up scroll.

I hope she doesn't see this before the party!!

Did you have a nice weekend? We had a great weekend. Although I was quite frustrated with Ansley's softball game Friday nigh (multiple issues there) and Ryan's T-Ball game on Saturday (got hit by 7 foul balls from a different field - nothing like a ball coming out of no where and hitting you!!). But it was still a great weekend. 

We have a slightly less crazy week this week with only 1 night with ball games - unfortunately they both have games at the same time on the same night so we will have to split up again! But I'm looking forward to a little more of a quiet week.

The Greeting Farm Stamp Sale and Stamp and Create Challenge

Hello stamping friends!! 

I hope you had a lovely weekend. We had a busy one. The weather has been crazy for us here in North Florida! It was 88 degrees on Saturday but then only 63 on Sunday! And last night it got back down into the 30's over night! But the high is 73 today!! Crazy how we can have an almost 40 degree difference in one day!! It just means that the colds (meaning the sniffles) will be back...and the trees and flowers are ALL confused!! "Do we bloom? Do we stay dormant?"! LOL

I have a busy week this week. I am finishing up the tax preparations for an appointment with a CPA this week. Plus we have some warrantee work being done on a few things in the house. I can't believe we have been here for almost 1 year already?! Luckily there are only a few minor repairs - we are so happy with the construction of our house so far. 

Ok, now onto some business...

High Hopes Rubber Stamps will be having a small release this week. Monday - Wednesday we will be showcasing the new stamps over at the High Hopes Blog. Then on Thursday the stamps will be released and all of the stamps will be shown by the Design Divas on the blog. No blog hop with this release - it will all be in one spot on the blog. Stamp and Create Challenge & Wags 'n Whiskers Product Spotlight

Hello stamping friends!!

Did you have a nice weekend? Since my kids were only back to school on Thursday, I still have so much to do so I did some work on Saturday. Then I spent the rest of the weekend working on ideas and projects for the house. I had made window valances for our family room/breakfast area, but still needed to make matching curtains for the large sliding glass doors. I am almost finished - I ran out of thread so I had to take a break but will hopefully have them finished by tomorrow. I'll try to take a picture when I can. 

I also discovered the time vortex of "Pinerest"! LOL Oh my gosh! What amazing ideas! Some crazy, gorgeous home decor idea, organizing tips, cleaning tips, and DIY projects! I am waiting for my invitation to pin, but I have copied links in a separate folder for some of my favorite ideas. I hope to work on one of them this week! :-) But, I warn you...you will loose hours on Pinerest!! But the good news is many of the ideas I liked were time-saving ideas - so, although I now have a ton of "honey do" projects, many of them are frugal! Like re-organizing my huge pantry! I was inspired by one organized pantry and decided it was time to go through mine. I'm only part-way through, but it looks so much better already!

I used the adorable Just for You (on sale this week) which was designed after my son Ryan and Bo Bo (his stuffed dog/blanket)! I also used Splotchy by The Greeting Farm around the image. The papers are MME Fly a Kite paired with Brown/Ivory Check Ribbon and a Vintage Button.

I found some corrugated paper at my AC Moore and used some Stampin' Up punches for a fun accent...

The image was stamped in Basic Brown Ink and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...

Stamp and Create Challenge: Vintage/ Bow Easy Sale

Hello stamping friends!

I hope you had a lovely weekend! Friday night our kids had a "kids only" party in the neighborhood so Scott and I went shopping for Christmas decorations for the outside of the house. It's much easier to do that sort of shopping without two kids in tow! On Saturday we went to a Model Home Store for a warehouse sale. The interior designer who decorates the model homes for the builder who built our home was having a sale. Some items were REALLY cheap and then 50% off those prices!! There was a GORGEOUS antique wood headboard that I would love to have for Ansley's room but it was a Queen and we would rather her have a full size bed in her room. We didn't get it. But we did get a few great deals on some other wall decor. I got 3 things for my stamping room, too! I have to alter one of them so as soon as I get that altered and hung on the walls, I will share pictures. 

We dropped the boys off at home and Ansley and I went to the mall after lunch. We bought her a watch for her birthday in September, but it was too big. We keep forgetting to take it in to get it sized so we finally did that along with replacing Ansley's broken glasses case (Ansley has reading glasses). While we were there, I bought Ansley a dress to wear to church on Christmas Eve. The malls were busy, but we actually didn't have to wait in any lines! So, even though it was crowded, the stores had plenty of cashiers on hand - which is VERY nice!

On Sunday, our Life Group had a "Community Service Day" and we picked up trash along the road to the entrance of our neighborhood (well, their neighborhood - we used to live there, but now we live in a community next door). Both of our neighborhoods have a lawn service that take care of trash within the neighborhood, but just outside of the community it's actually a different county and there is a section that is not taken care of well by the city. So the bigger kids and adults in our group walked along the roads and picked up trash. It was disgusting how many bottles of soda, water, beer, and liquor were thrown along the side of the road! Oh, and cigarette buts! People, cigarette buts are NOT biodegradable!! Don't throw them out the window! Not the mention they can cause fire during the dry season!! 

Anyway, it was nice to show the kids how a little time and work on our part can help give back to our community!

Stamp and Create Challenge & Dies on sale

Hello stamping friends!!

Well, it's been a busy weekend. On friday my husband flew up to Tennessee to be with his father. He has a rare form of cancer and had a blockage in his intestines. So any prayers for a safe and easy recovery would be appreciated. 

Since Scott was gone, I had to hold down the fort with the kids. Friday night we went to the movies to see Puss n Boots - cute movie. Then Saturday morning we had 2 VERY Chilly soccer games. I forgot my camera but Ansley had the most awesome goal ever!! She booted the ball right over the goalie's head and it landed perfectly in the net!! Then she had an awesome run from their goal past mid-field where she fell but managed to pass it to a team-mate who scored again!! I'm so proud that she had a hand (or a foot) in the only 2 goals of the game - they won 2-0!! Ryan's team, on the other hand, got murdered!! :-(

Ansley had a birthday party Saturday night at a fun Dune-Buggy park. And Sunday was filled with our normal Life Group and church. 

Since it's the first Monday of the month, it's time for a new Stamp and Create Monthly Challenge along with a new Product Spotlight Sale.

Now here is my card...

I used a "Center Fold Card" using one of the adorable new Magnolia designs! This is Halo Tilda. The papers are My Mind's Eye Lost and Found. I used some of the dies on sale this week: CC Cutter Teardrop Lace and Teardrop Border, and Magnolia DooHickey Bloomy Tag and Spruce Tag.

I also used: jewel sticks, Mulberry Roses, Pearls, Liquid Applique, resin corner and Merry Christmas sentiment.

Magical Monday & Stamp and Create Challenges

Hello Stamping friends!!

I hope you all are having a lovely weekend! It's long weekend for us in the States so we are out of town in Tennessee visiting family. We also went to the University of Tennessee football game on Saturday. It was the first time the kids got to go to a game. My husband was born and raised in TN so he's a huge Volunteer Fan (during good times and bad). I'm from South Florida so my team is technically University of Miami Hurricanes. But since I didn't go to the school, and their in a different division than UT, I can still be a UT fan with not much complication. Anyway, I will try to post pictures as soon as I can.

The picket fence and grass were created with my Silhouette Machine. The "4" was die cut using a cuttlebug die and some glitter cardstock. PS the 4 is because she's the 4th grade teacher.

For my project, I decided to alter a Composition Notebook for Ansley for church. She needs to bring  Composition Book to church each Sunday so I thought I was cover one using an image that was designed after her...

Magical Monday Challenge & Stamp and Create Product Spotlight

Hello stamping friends!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. We have a fun-filled one. On Saturday morning we had a birthday party at the beach for one of our friend's little 4 year old daughter. Then Saturday night a friend of ours had a "wine tasting party". Oh my, we had so much fun!! But, man...I "might" have drank a little too much wine! (wink, wink)!! Yesterday we had Life Group/Bible Study, a little stamping, and church Sunday night. 

This week Soccer practice starts and it looks like it's going to be a busy schedule. We haven't gotten the final schedule, but it appears that we will have practice Monday night for Ansley, Tuesday night for Ryan, Wednesday night of Ansley, then Thursday night for Ryan followed by games on saturday morning for Ryan and Saturday afternoon for Ansley!! Lord help me now!! The first game is on Sept 10th (which happens to be Ansley's 9th birthday). I'm already stressed out!!

Happy Birthday, America & the Stamp and Create Challenge

Hello stamping friends!! Happy Birthday, America!!

I am still out of town at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, FL with a group of friends. We are having a wonderful time - although a little sunburned!! We don't leave until tomorrow so I think today will include some putt-putt golf and some shaded pool time! 

Today is the new Stamp and Create Challenge. Since I'm still on vacation and my family is currently waiting for me to finish this so we can get on with the fun activities today, I will pick the winner of the last challenge when I get home on Wednesday. 

This month's challenge is: Ribbons and Bow

For my project, I decided to create a scrapbook layout of our 4th of July trip to Hammock Beach last year...

I used Liberty from CC Designs for the image. For the ribbons and bows challenge, I used some White Silk Ribbon for a "flag-pole" as well as some white ric rac ribbon on the banner and the bottom. The title and banner were created on my Silhouette machine. The papers were in my stash from a LONG time ago. I added a few pearls to the image as well.

Here's my layout...

I used the adorable Arianna from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. She was perfect for some pictures I needed to scrap of Ansley as a baby (22 months).

I used some Organza ribbon to create a fun ruffle border. And I punched out a bunch of glitter cardstock (American Crafts) to create fun "bubbles". I chose darker colors of the glitter CS so they would stamp our more against the soft polkadots in the background.

Anrianna was embossed in black and watercolored using Twinkling H2Os.

The blue and pink letters were die cut using cuttlebug dies (for "my") and Sizzix dies (for "mermaid"). "Little" was created using Thickers chipboard letters.

ABC Christmas Challenge J: Joy Fold Card

Hello stamping friends!! 

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! Ryan got sick Monday night so he had to stay home yesterday and I feel something going on (hoping it's not my husband's strep from last week)!! 

This weekend my husband is hosting his annual "guys weekend" with 3 of his old college buddies. So I will technically be a "single mom" this weekend! Hopefully I won't loose my mind by Sunday!! Ryan has a Tball game on Saturday so we can't go out of town like we did the last time he hosted the guys weekend. But that was 4 years ago and the kids weren't in school full time so it was a lot easier to leave the guys to their fun!!

Anyway, we have some fun planned this weekend for us, too (if we are all well)!!

Well, it's time for a new ABC Christmas Challenge.

This week's challenge is: J is for Joyfold

Now, I have never made Joyfold card so it was a fun challenge for me...

I used the adorable Musing Melinda from Whiff of Joy. Now, this isn't a "Christmas" stamp, but I think any angel can be used for a Christmas Card. I like using "non-traditional" stamps for purposes other than their original intent. It think it really shows the versatility of images for those who many not be able to afford every stamp their want - use your stamps in a new and different way!!

The papers are Kaisercraft Christmas Carnival.

I added the tree charm to help close the card...

Stamp and Create Product Spotlight - Charms

Hello stamping friends!

I hope all of you Mothers had a fantastic Mother's Day yesterday!!

I had a lovely mother's day. I just had a lazy day in the morning then we went to the movies to see Rio and out to dinner for Sushi/Japanese.

On Saturday night, we got a babysitter and went out with a few friends to dinner/games/bowling followed by some Rock Band/Guitar Hero. We had a lot of fun although I was quite tired yesterday after staying up very late!

The sketch is from C.R.A.F.T. this week. I rotated the sketch to the right a quarter turn to have the banners in the blank space of the image panel.

Stamp and Create, Magical Monday & High Hopes Challenges

I have lots of challenges and pictures to share today. Half of this post is late and should have posted yesterday.

It was a very busy weekend for my family and I didn't get the chance to finish my Magical Monday/Stamp and Create card or put the Stamp and Create Product Spotlight images on sale over the weekend. Then on Sunday, Ryan fell off a rope swing at a friend's house and went flying into a fence. By the evening his arm was swollen and black and blue under his elbow. We put ice on it and kept an eye on it, but Monday morning it was still swollen so we took him to the doctor. Luckily it is only a bad bruise - no fractures. 

Then after bringing Ryan to school after his doctor's appointment yesterday, my husband came home feverish and achy. He locked himself in our guest room and slept most of the day. This morning he went to the doctor and he has a bad case of Strep Throat!! I REALLY hope that doesn't go around the house!!

Anyway, between all of that, I got a bit behind. 

So today I have 2 cards to share for a few challenges.

Ryan had a "Camp-Out" themed sleep-over birthday party on Saturday night so I created this card for the birthday boy...

The papers are Campfire by October Afternoon (perfect for this image) and the sketch is from Sketch Saturday.

Now since it was a "boys only" party, Ansley was feeling left out. So we decided to create our own little "tent" over the game room TV and have a little Camp-out movie night!! So here are some pictures of our little "girls only" campout (Which is also a little peek at our upstairs game room/loft)... 

My husband taped a sheet from the top of the old entertainment center to the backs of some high-back chairs. Please excuse the surrounding mess - this is one of those rooms that hasn't been organized after the move. The door that's closed in the back left is my stamping room. The open door is Ansley's Bathroom. I'm standing in front of Ansley's Bedroom door and the hallway to Ryan's and my room. 

And here is Ansley under the "tent" with Princess and a spot just for Mommy... 

 
We ate popcorn, left over Easter chocolate, and watched "The Sword in the Stone" Disney movie. It was a fun night!

Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge - Snowflakes

Hello stamping friends!!

I'm tired...I have to admit it! It's been a long week. I worked practically all last weekend on the High Hopes release all the way through release time. Then I swear it took me 5 hours non-stop to go through the ABC Christmas Challenge entries to pick out my "top 5" since it was my week. Then it was pointed out that I forgot to post the winner of last week's WnW challenge (which I posted last night on the challenge blog), Anyway, I am so glad it's friday! I hope to get the orders out in the morning then be able to sit down and finally finish up my Christmas cards.

Many have been asking how I am feeling since my surgery. Honestly, with the exception of being really tired, I actually feel great! I only have minor pain...usually when I bend over. Other than that, I'm doing wonderful. I still try to take it easy physically so I make sure to sit and rest in between activities. I'm also not stressing about minor details...like the fact that the kids placed all of the Christmas ornaments towards the bottom of our Christmas tree (where they can reach) since I don't feel like climbing up on a step ladder to move more towards the top! See? It's not that important...and the kids are proud of their tree!!

On another note, I have been asked about my little gift bags that I created here. I will try to create a tutorial really soon!

And lastly, I went back over my posts and noticed that I never announced that we are moving!! My husband has been transferred (again). This time to Atlanta, Georgia. This is going to be the first time in my life that I will no longer be a "Floridian"!! But at least he still has a job, right?! In this economy, I am grateful that he has a job, even if we have to move to keep it! The good news is that it will be much closer to my mom and sister (hopefully within an hour), about an hour and a half from my Sister-in-law, and 4 hours (instead of 14 hours) from Scott's parents. 

We are thinking it will be around March before we move - need to put the house on the market and look for a new one. So, we are heading to Atlanta for Christmas again this year. Mainly to look for houses, but also to spend Christmas with my mom and sister. The kids are so happy they will get to see their cousins again for Christmas!!

Therefore, the shipping for the store will be on hold from Dec 19 - Jan 3rd. Of course I will share more about that closer to my break.

Winter Fairy (Magical Monday and Stamp and Create Product Spotlight)

Hello stamping friends!!

Well, It has been some week! I am 1 day shy of 1 week from my hysterectomy. I'm still doing well...slowly but surely healing. I have some cramping still and I don't have much energy. But I have to remember that I just had surgery and to take it easy. 

I am still on a lifting restriction, so orders are taking longer to ship out than normal. Please be patient with me over the next week or so. I pride myself on getting orders shipped out fast, but this week is going to have to take it one day at a time. All orders that arrived before Friday morning have shipped out already. So only the weekend orders haven't shipped yet. I am hoping those will ship out tomorrow.

I was able to get into the craft room this weekend for a short time. I'm not 100% happy with the cards I made, but hey...I just had surgery so I'm not being too picky!! LOL

Today is a new Magical Monday Challenge. This week's challenge is: Let it Snow!!

Use a "Magical character" with some snow!!

This was a perfect challenge for the Product Spotlight at Stamp and Create.

This is Ella with Wand. I also used some snowflake papers from Basic Grey Jovial DP, buttons, pink ric rac, lace, stickles, and liquid applique.

Wags 'n Whiskers Early Sneak Peek for Stamp and Create and Magical monday Challenges

I have an exciting card to show today!! It's for a few challenges, so lets just get straight to it since I have a busy week ahead of me!!

It's time for a new Stamp and Create Monthly challenge. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our challenge is: Pink for Breast Cancer or a card of encouragement!

So you can either use Pink on your card, or just make a "thinking of you" type of card.

The prize a $25.00 gift certificate!

My neighbor is battling Breast Cancer...and she seems to be winning (which is a great thing). But it is still a LONG road. So far she had chemo with a trial drug, a double mastectomy, and Wednesday is her last day of radiation. Since she tested positive for the BRAC gene, she is having a full hysterectomy in November (to prevent Ovarian Cancer), followed by reconstructive surgery. She is so exhausted, but she's only half way done with two more surgeries to go!

So if anyone would like to make a card for her, I know she would appreciate it. Her name is Barbara. Email me at [email protected] and I will give you my address (I will hold on to them and give them to her).

Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge - Vintage/Shabby Chic

Hello stamping friends!!

I hope you had a great week! Mine was busy. Busy as usual, but then adding volunteering at the kids school twice this week. So I did loose a little of my "free time". But it's all good, so worth it!!

Ok...it is time for another Wags 'n Whiskers challenge and, oh my!, I had fun with this one!! I really pushed myself out of my "comfort level".

Holy smokes, I had fun with this card!! This is Angelica and she is just gorgeous!! Although I didn't really add a "Christmas" sentiment per say, I think this card will make a great Christmas card. 

Now when I think "Vintage", I think Camilla and our very own Tina! So I studied their style for awhile now and kept thinking about some of their designs that really inspired me and kept that in my mind while I created this. 

So there are lots of layers and supplies...too many to list. So if you want to know, ask. But all supplies are carried in my store except the SU eyelets.
