Hello Stamping Friends!

I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was VERY busy. My daughter's birthday was last Wednesday, but we spent the weekend celebrating since she spent her actual birthday at school and soccer practice. Friday night we went to the Melting Pot for some fondue dinner (her choice). Saturday, she had a soccer game in Jekyll Island, GA. So we spent the rest of the afternoon at Jekyll Island and St. Simon Island, Ga with her BFF.

She played Goaltender for two quarters (which is a new position for her)...

On Sunday, we had some of her classmates over to go to the pool. They got ahold of my waterproof camera, so it was filled with fun selfies that the girls (and my son) took.

Today I am sharing a card I made for my Mother-in-Law's birthday last week. If you would, please keep her in your prayers. She is battling lung cancer that has spread to her brain and she's not doing well. any prayers would be appreciated. 

This is Puppy Luv from Saturated Canary. I know it's supposed to be a "romance" image, however, I think it's a cute image with a boy and girl that actually resemble both my son and daughter (seriously, look at the picture above of my son and daughter on top of the lighthouse - you can see Ansley's braid pony tail in the soccer picture)!!

I also used  Party Banner, Frantage, Black Pearls, and lots of Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers.

The image was embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...

My baby is 12!!

Hello stamping friends!!

Today is my daughter's birthday. I can't believe she is 12! 

(From first day of school last month).

I made her this card using one of the new Saturated Canary stamps...

This is Piper from Saturated Canary. The background paper is from Tigerlilly along with Heart Banner Die, High-Rise Numbers Die, Feathers, Frantage, and lots of Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers.  

The image was embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os and Copics (hair)... 

My pictures never really show the sparkle on the cards so I took one at a different angle (using my phone) that hopefully shows the sparkle... 

You can see the light shining off the heat embossing of the hair of the image; the glitter cardstock used on the banner, 12, and heart; the gold and white frantage around the image, and the foil paper (the pink part) of the background paper. 

Since her birthday falls on a weekday with school, homework, and soccer practice, we will celebrate her birthday this weekend. However, I did bring cupcakes to school and ate lunch with her. I made her a dinner she requested (Baked Ziti). And even more cupcakes for her soccer team at practice.

This is Queenie and Princess from Saturated Canary,  Event Flags, Bride Bow, Scalloped Stitch Lace and Christmas Tags DooHickies, pearls, Feathers, Frantage, and Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers: Chrysanthemums, Gardenia, Lily, and Leaves. 

I think this image is great for Mother/Daughter or Big and Little Sister. (I'm the little sister in my family).

Sisters

Hello stamping friends!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. We had a nice quiet one. It was raining most of the weekend so the kids and I had a marathon of Harry Potter Movies! We watched #3, 4, and 5 yesterday (we had already watched #1 and 2 earlier in the week.

As this posts, I am hopfully on the way to the beach. With all of the rain we had this weekend, it will be nice to see some sun.

Today I have a card to share that I made on commission for a friend. She wanted a card for her sister and I thought this image would be cute...

I LOVE how it turned out. I'm starting to become very partial to the color combo of Teal, Lime Green and Black!

Stamp and Create June Challenge: Thank You, Teach!

Hello stamping friends!

I hope you had a nice weekend. My husband was out of town for his annual "college guys weekend". Every year he meets up with 3 of his college buddies. They all live in a different State and they rotate who's house they go to. This year, it was South Carolia. While he was gone, the kids and I did a few things together, watched a few movies, went out to dinner with friends, went to church, and went to a friend's son's Graduation party.

Ansley is done with school. Friday was her last day. They had an awards ceremony and Ansley received an award for A/B Honor Roll for the 4th Quarter then another award for A/B Honor Roll for the whole year (she actually got All A's in the 1st Quarter). Afterward, they had an ice cream party. He she is with her teacher...

Ryan still has a few more days left of school this week.

Thank you Veterans

Hello stamping friends!

To all of my US friends, I hope you are enjoying your long Holiday weekend. 

I would like to say a special Thank You to everyone who has ever served our county! And thank you to all of the wives/husbands and children who also sacrifice so that your husband/wife/parent can serve our county!

Since I live near a military base, I see the sacrifices that are made so that we can live in a free county!

I am so blessed to call you friends!

I've had a few veterans in my family over the years. Although they didn't die during their service, they are no longer with us today. Both my Paternal Grandfather (Robert Armstrong) and Maternal Grandfather (Fred Porter) served in WWII. In addition, my father (Robert C Armstrong) and Father-in-Law (Harris Stephens) both also served in the Navy in the 60's; luckily neither had to fight in battle. I am so honored to be a part of their family and am so grateful that one day I will see them again. In the mean time, they watch over us from their Heavenly homes.

My brother-in-law (Thomas Carson) also served for some time. Thankfully he is still with us and is an amazing Uncle to my kids. :-)

Ansley's 11th Birthday

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Ours was completely jammed packed! Such a busy weekend. 

Saturday morning Ansley had a soccer game. After the game, the kids went to a friend's house for the day while my husband and I went to the University of Florida/University of Tennessee football game...

On Sunday we had church, another soccer game, then a birthday party at the same time for both kids!! Man was I ready for bed!!

Last Sunday was Ansley's birthday party. Unfortunately I missed it because I had a stomach virus. But my husband took a few pictures (of course the lighting inside wasn't great so some of the pictures didn't turn out well)...

Her party was at a roller skating rink.

And they did a little rock climbing as well.

My friend made her awesome cake! The skate was made with rice crispy treats covered in fondant. It was HUGE!!

And here is the card I made her... 

This Bella image from Saturated Canary was perfect for her card!! I used some old paper from my stash along with Raggedy's Birthday Sentiment from High Hopes Rubber Stamps, Feathers, Flag Die from Magnolia, Head Pins, Frantage, and Pearls.

I have been busy this week finishing up Mother's Day/Teacher Appreciation cards. I have have a few birthday cards in the next few weeks along with a bunch of Soccer Coach/Team Mom thank you cards for the end of the season! Whew, I am going to busy!!

Today I have a card using one of the new Saturated Canary Rubber Stamps that were released yesterday. I needed a birthday card for a little friend...

I just love this image!! It's "cute" while being a little "grown up" with the sassy hair! This is the adorable Tilly from Saturated Canary. The papers are Miss Caroline Howdy Doody from My Mind's Eye along with Olive Mini Blooms, White Encore flowers, White Serenade Flowers, Magical Mini Letter Seals, Liquid Pearls, and Crystal Stickles

Stamp and Create April Challenge: Use at least 1 die

Hello stamping friends!!

I hope you had a lovely Easter!!

We had a great time. A visit from the Easter Bunny with an egg hunt, church outside followed by a potluck lunch and another egg hunt from the church, playing outside (well, the kids played while I actually packaged up orders), then a nice dinner. 

Here's a picture of my kids after tie-dying eggs...

So today is the last day of Spring Break so I'm taking orders to the post office then heading to the beach with some friends. And Friday is another day off from school!! It's a "Fair Day"! So only a 3 day school week this week - hopefully I will get SOMETHING done this week!!

New Saturated Canary

Hello stamping friends!!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Friday night we went to a friend's house to play cards and had a great time. Then Saturday night the boys went to the Monster Truck Show while the girls had a pedicure and fun Japanese dinner. Sunday was filled with church and bible study. It was a great weekend with warm weather - I actaully started my Spring "farmer's tan" by getting a little sun watching Ansley at horse riding lessons. 

Now it looks like we might not see the sun today! 100% chance of rain which is actually fine with us since we have been extremely dry and in a 'fire hazard' lately. We also have some severe weather warnings in the area, too. But the warm weather won't last, I think it's supposed to get cold again next weekend which a possible chance of a snow flurry...in Jacksonville, Florida...what?!). We'll see if that actually happens.

For my card today, I wanted to use one of the new Saturated Canary stamps that arrived on Friday...

This is Bella from Saturated Canary. I loved the Zebra print on her shirt, so I used some glitter cardstock from American Crafts from my stash along with Lavender Silk Ribbon, Heart Swirl DooHickey from Magnolia, Grape Mini Blooms, Lavender Encore Flowers, Purple Serenade Flowers, Mini Black/Gray Roses, Lavender pearls, Stickles, and Liquid Pearls.

Isn't she so adorable? I have to work on color her hair though! I'm not too happy with it.
