Stamp and Create Challenge: For the ladies

Hello stamping friends!!

Well once again I am behind! I probably need to change the day of the week that I do the Stamp and Create product spotlight and challenges!! I seems that my weekends are too busy so I can't get all of the work/posts done before Monday. Then Monday comes and I have all of the weekend orders that need to take priority! 

Anyway, we had a lovely weekend. I got to sleep in a little on Saturday (which is always needed). I ran a few errands then went to Ryan's last regular season T-Ball game (they are now in the playoffs) followed by a neighbor's birthday party/Cinco de Mayo party. On Sunday we had church and Ryan had a birthday party so Scott took him to the party (it was at a video game/laser tag/putt putt golf place) and Ansley and I spent the afternoon shopping! I had a few coupons that were only valid for the weekend so it was a perfect time to stock up on some shorts for Summer and some fun new sandals. Ansley got a pair of sandals, a new shirt, gift cards for her teachers for teacher appreciation week, and some yummy ice cream!! So even though I also dragged her to the grocery store, I think she was still happy with our fun afternoon.

Oh, and we went to Outback for lunch! Our local Outback is only open for Lunch on Sundays. We both LOVE their Seared Tuna appetizer so we each got one and shared a side salad. It was a perfect light lunch.

Ok, so I mentioned that this weekend was Ryan's last T-Ball game. All of the teams will participate in the playoffs so that means we still have at least another game...if we win, we will have even more games. But it's time to start planning the "end of season party". Of course the team mom is in charge of that - and I'm not the team mom (luckily I was too busy with Ansley's softball team having games/practices that conflicted with Ryan's schedule so I was able to get out of being the team mom). When we have the end of season party, we usually do something nice for the coaches which means we need a card to give them as well! I have those made and will share them next week. However, I wanted to make a card for the team mom as well since she works just as hard keeping the kids under control in the dug-out. 

All of the teams in our league use names from the Professional Baseball teams and our team are the 'Pirates" with the colors of the Pittsburg Pirates - Black and Yellow. 

I went through my stamps and found the perfect female pirate stamp for the Team Mom's card...

This is Alicia the Strawberry Pirate from Kraftin' Kimmie. Isn't she perfect? Cute and "mean" at the same time - I mean, come on, you can't be a team mom if you let the kids walk all over you; you need to be a little tough as well!! However, I didn't really like that she was standing on skulls (this is a 6-7 year old T-ball team, we don't need to be too scary!!) so I covered the skulls with some fun flowers to match the team's colors.

The wood papers are Miss Carolina Dolled Up and flags came from Echo Park This & That Charming.I also used Magnolia Cloud & Flag DooHickey, High Hopes Treasure Map stamp, Anchor Charm, pearls, and Net Ribbon.

The sentiment was created on the computer and made to look like a rolled up scroll.

I hope she doesn't see this before the party!!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday - a 2 pager

Hello stamping friends! Today it's time for another Scrap and Stamp Saturday Challenge.

Here's my layout...

Slip 'n Slide at Hammock Beach! These pictures were taken over the 4th of July weekend when we went to the beach resort with friends. This is such a fun place so if you are in need of a wonderful beach resort (3 or 4 bedroom condos) in the St. Augustine Florida area, just go a little farther South to Palm Coast and stay at Hammock Beach.

Anyway, the layout is from Scrapbook Challenges sketch 211. I just copied the sketch to a 2-pager so I could scrap both Ryan and Ansley's trip down the waterslide.
Here's Ryan...

Ryan was a little hesitant about going down the slide by himself. But he finally managed to get the courage and he had so much fun! In fact the past two weekends we went to pools with waterslides and I couldn't get him off of them!!

Here's Ansley...

Ansley is our little "Thrill-seeker". She loves anything exciting. She likes to hold her hands in the air on roller coasters...and scream at the top of her lungs! She has an ear-piercing scream, too!!

I used an old Stampin' Up polka dot wheel on the background randomly stamped in Bahama Breeze onto Sage Shadow CS. The DP and alphabet stickers are from the new Oliver 12 x 12 from Basic Grey. I think I mentioned how much I love this paper!! And these two were perfect for this layout!
Other stamps I used are Miles Mouse from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps.

Stamp and Create "Summer" Product Spotlight

Hello stamping friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Unfortunately I had to work...time to submit the 2nd Quarter Florida Sales Tax for the store!! I was up until 1am both nights this weekend trying to get it all done. But that's my fault for always waiting until the last minute!

I am going out of town on Friday to visit my sister for my niece and nephew's birthdays and since I haven't seen her since Christmas. That means I have a LOT of work to do to get ready to be gone for a week. My husband is staying home and he said he will fill the orders for me :-)

Now it's time for the 2nd week of the "Summer" Product Spotlight sale at Stamp and Create! The stamps in the Summer Category will be up to 25% off through Sunday.

Here is my card...
This is Eleanor from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I've had this image colored up for about a month!! Just never got around to putting it on a card. Therefore, this card came together easy!

I wanted to show the versatility of the new Basic Grey Oliver 12x12 paper pack. When I saw this background DP, it looked like splashes of water and water bubbles!! So these papers work great for a "girly" card, too! Perfect for the Summer!!

The Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge this week is "Beautiful Bows", so I added some White Grosgrain ribbon, a Basic Grey button, and a bow created with the Bow Easy. To make it fit for the Stamp and Create Stitch challenge, I added some hand sewn stitches (although the stitched button works as well).

Now it's time for me to get back to work!! So many orders to fill today (which I love)!!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday DT - Use Paint

Happy weekend!! Yay!! I can not tell you how glad I am that it is the weekend!! I had a crazy week and I am exhausted!! 

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the Wags 'n Whiskers blog hop yesterday! It's still going on until tomorrow, so if you haven't hopped along...you still have time!

Now it's time for the Scrap and Stamp Saturday Challenge!! And I am so happy to say that Regina is back!! I didn't mind covering the challenges...but this week we have a tutorial on the blog (make sure to check it out) so I am so glad that I didn't have to do that post!! LOL

So let's get to the challenge...

This week's challenge is to use paint. The Design Team used paint on their layouts in many different ways. Jowilna created a paint resist tutorial...so go check that out on the blog. I used crackle paint on chipboard.

Here is my layout...

First off I have to say that this stamp I used, Beach Bum Miles from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, is PERFECT for this layout!! When I saw this stamp from this release, I just knew it was time to scrap these pictures!! I have closer shots of these pictures below.

Anyway, last summer we stayed over my Brother-in-law's house while we were in town closing on our house. The kids and I spent a lot of time at the pool and the beach. So by the time these pictures were taken, Ryan had a nice tan going. He really tans quickly. So...Uncle Marc started a game of throwing the kids in the air. Every time he threw Ryan, his pants would fall down!! I finally got these pictures!! So cute!!

Here's Beach Bum Miles...he is embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...

Here's a close up shot of the chipboard..

I inked up the chipboard with Turquoise ink then added Clear Crackle Paint. After it dried, I added more ink and also some chocolate chip ink to bring out the crackle a little better.

Here are the digital pictures that were used in the layout...

Ok...now it's your turn!! Let's see some paint on your layout. You can frame your pictures with archival safe paint, paint up some chipboard like I did, add a background with paint to ground your picture, or stamp with paint...use paint instead of ink! Just remember that you must use at least one stamp on your layout to be entered into the drawing for the prize from this week's sponsor.

Isn't this little guy the cutest?! This is Sandcastle Miles and he is having too much fun in the sun!!

These stamps are much smaller than the regular Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps so they are just perfect for the standard A2 size cards (5 1/2" x 4 1/4"). I used some October Afternoon DP, Basic Grey Bloomer, Ribbon with the Bow Easy, and pearls. Very simple, but sweet card!

Kraftin' Kimmie & Tim Holtz Edge dies

I had a little "quiet" time this week so I was actually able to stamp just for fun! I don't always get the time to make a card "just because". I've been dying to ink up some of Kimmie's Moonlight Whispers images since I started carrying them, but most of the time I would sell out so quickly that I didn't want to grab one for personal use. So I decided to use one of the older images. I also wanted to play around with one of the new Tim Holtz edge dies...

This little frazzled girl is Charlotte. She reminds me of what I must look like by the end of a hard day with my kids!! LOL I used to own an in-home daycare and I am SURE I looked like this on occassion!! Hair all wild and sticking up with a twitch in my eye!! Although I never had a kid's eye fall out!! ROFL!!

I used the Tim Holtz Scroll die along the side. I attached the papers first, then die cut both layers together...

Below is a view of just the front of the card, but I love how the papers on the inside show through when it's closed...

Here's a close up of Charlotte. She was embossed in black and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...

I'm entering this in the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge this week - lots of flowers. I used some of my new Primas along with a Basic Grey Swirl. The DP is MME.

Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Hop and Release...oo la la!!

Hello Krafty Friends! I hope you are enjoying the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Hop! I am so excited to be able to participate in the hop again for this month's release. Let me tell you, when I saw the image for this release, I just about jumped out of my seat!! All of the artists did a remarkable job with this release!

Now here is my card...

OMG!! Is this image too sexy or what?! This is Babette and she is one of the sexy ladies illustrated by Annie Rodrigue. I may just have to give this card to my hubby!!! ROFL... if only I looked that sexy!! I'm thinking having hips bigger than your bust in real life is NOT as sexy as this image portays!! LOL Beleive me...I should know!

The sketch is from Papertake Weekly (although I altered it a little to fit the sentiment under the flowers).

I'm also entering it in the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge this week (which is a photo inspiration)...

The card base is SU Pumpkin Pie, then SU Whisper White. The DP is from a new MME glitter stack (I have to stop buying these...but I can't).

The sentiment is sold together with this stamp. It is stamped in black staz-on and punched with a SU punch. I added a strip of CS that was stamped with SU En Fransais background stamp in chocolate chip ink.

The image is embossed in black and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...

Gosh, if only I could walk in heals like that...let alone dance!!

I added some primas and pearls along with a paper doily...

I added stickles to all of the flowers.

I made this card for my neighbor's daughter's 4th birthday on Tuesday. It uses one of the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

I used some Basic grey Wisteria DP, new Kaiser Craft Snow flowers, new American Crafts Jewel Brads, White Grosgrain Ribbon (bow made with the Bow Easy), Nestabilities Label Four and Scalloped Rectangle Dies. By the way, I have many of the new Nestabilities on the way!!

The adorable image was embossed in black and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...

I am so excited that Kimmie asked me to participate with the release blog hop again!! When I saw this month release images to pre-order for my store, I just fell in love!! It was hard to choose, but I went with one of Crissy Armstrong's new illustrations...

 
This is Tree Fairy! Isn't she gorgeous?!! I love the detail of this stamp!

I paired her up with some 7 Gypsies paper from the Savannah 8"x8" Paper Pack and mini scrapbook kit. The piece under the photo brad is a diecut from the kit.

The card base is actually cardstock from the kit. Since it was 8"x8", I wasn't able to turn it into a traditional card base. So I used some of the Spellbinders Fancy Tags to create "binding". I think it resembles and fairytale book.

I used brads in addition to some scor-tape to secure it in place.

You can see that the base is actually 2 pieces - not one piece folded in half. Anyway, I carried the layout to the inside and added some flowers on the inside of the card to hide the brads.

The image was watercolored with Twinkling H2Os on watercolor paper...

I just loved coloring this image!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Blop Hop and Release!!

I got to play with the lovely Yvette. Isn't she so adorable?! I just love her beautiful dress...reminds me of something Ansley would want to wear!

 

I created my first Easel card. I love how they stand up almost like a picture frame. It's a great way to show off a card...just like art!

She was watercolored with Twinkling H2Os. Some other products I used on my card are: Dark Brown Ruffle Ribbon, Half Back Pearls, sewing, Martha Stewart punch, paper doille, prima, and SU Build-a-Brad.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - sewing

I still feel horrible...my head cold is hanging on strong :-( No fever, just massive sinus pressure so I will make this quick...going to bed as soon as I am done posting this.

This is one of the cards I created this weekend. The challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is "Sewing". I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week.

I use one of the new Crissy's Cuties called Ozzie and Harriet available at Stamp and Create. I used some Cosmo Cricket papers, SU Ridinghood red and Crushed Curry CS, SU scalloped edge punch, some Red Satin Ribbon, stickles, and punches snowflakes.

The image was embossed in black and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...

Kraftin' Kimmie Release and Challenge

I mentioned this weekend that I am now carrying the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps: Crissy's Cuties at Stamp and Create. I have both the 1st and 2nd release in stock along with the Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments and Kimmie's Holiday Sentiments.

I wanted to play along with their weekly challenge this week using one of the new stamps. The challenge - "Tag you're it" - use tags on your card.

Here is my card...

(Grr...there is that black spot on the right of his wing...it's driving me crazy!!) I used the Friday Sketcher sketch this week (I left of the top layer since it was too busy). Since I made the image a tag, I added the snowflake in the tag section of the sketch.

This is Oliver. It's he adorable?! He looks so cozy with his hot chocolate! The DP are Cosmo Cricket.I used some old retired SU Blue Bayou cardstock (only a few sheets left...but it goes so well with this DP) and a Kraft card base. The snowflake is a diecut coasterboard that I inked up the edges. Martha Sterwart border punch, SU oval and scalloped oval punches, Natural Twill ribbon from Stamp and Create, and some liquid applique to finish it off.

I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I did finish that as well.

I will leave you today with a picture of Ansley and her bigger toothless grin!! She lost her top right tooth the other night...
