Hello stamping friends!!
Edited: This card won Top 3 over at Lollipop Crafts!!
I hope you had a lovely weekend! We had a busy one filled with lots of T-Ball/Softball and church activities. The kids had team pictures this weekend so they had to get to the field an hour before their games. So between the pictures and games, it seemed like we were out there all day! Then Saturday we went to a friend's house to watch (recorded from earlier in the day) the University of Florida vs University of Tennessee Baseball game. Our friends are Florida fan (as is half of the Jacksonville, FL area) but my husband is from Tennessee so we are Volunteer fans. TN won the game by the way!! :-) Then on Sunday we had Church in the morning and Life Group in the evening.
Yesterday's sermon was absolutely fantastic. I feel like I say that each week, but this week's sermon hit home to me. The sermon was about being in Community with other Christians. How many people greet others by say "Hi, how are you?" but they don't REALLY want to know how you are doing - that's just something nice to say. But if you are in a community of friends, you are more willing to actually CARE how someone is doing. And when you are in a community of Christian friends, they can feel like family to you. That is so true with my Life Group. Although the group started years ago as a "bible study", the families in the group because my closest friends. The group was set up to include "couples with young children" so that we all had something in common and that made it easy for us to connect and relate with one another. We all are going through the trials of married life and raising children.
When we moved away a few years ago, it was so hard for me to leave these people who I came to know as my friends. I stayed in touch with them and we met up at least a few times a year. But I always felt disconnected without having them close by. So when the opportunity to came back to the Jacksonville area, I was thrilled!! We jumped right back into our Life Group as if we never left!! These people mean so much to me!! Our kids play baseball/softball/soccer together. The kids have playdates every weekend as well as occasional sleep overs. I am so proud and honored to have them in my life!!
If you would like to listen to the sermon, you can find it online here (April 15th sermon). And if you feel like you are living this life alone, I encourage you to check out a church and find out how you can get connected in a bible study or life group. Don't feel about about trying out a few churches, too. Not every church is right for every personality. The only thing that is required is that it's a "Bible based" church! But some churches are contemporary with "rock" bands and casual dress (which I prefer) and others are more "Traditional" with "Sunday Dress" and Choirs. The point it to find a group of people that you feel comfortable with and who are willing to help hold you accountable and helping you grow in your relationship with God.
