Hello Stamping Friends!!
I'm back today to share my craft space with you. Warning...there are a LOT of pictures!!
I guarantee it's not going to stay this clean for too long, so I had to take photos as soon as it was finished! Well, it's actually not finished - I still need to add decorations to the wall and windows.
Come enter my space...
My craft room is on the 2nd floor of my house over the garage looking out on the front yard. The door in the back of the room is the "Store" (a 6'x6' closet with large window).
When you walk in, the work station/desk is to the left, the shipping station is the white cabinets to the right, and the die cutting station is straight ahead.
You will notice that I have a mix of furniture. Maybe one day I will paint them all to match the white shipping station.
In the photo above, you can see that I have plenty of walking space. I can even fit a Queen size blow-up for guests or a 6' table for when I have friends over to scrapbook! The room is 13'x11" so nice and roomy.
Turning to the left, this is the Work Station wall...
My desk used to be my father's. When he died, I took over the desk before we sold his house. It's nice and study and VERY heavy. The shelves to the right used to be in our playroom in our old house. We have 2 more tall shelves and another short shelves that match these - but they are still in the kids playroom.
The TV shelves hold my scrapbooks and the pink boxes hold my SU inks in two and photos in the 3rd box. The polka dot bins were purchased at Target. The two large bins hold tons of wood-mounted Stampin' Up sets that I need to sell (one day I'll get those photographed and added to the store - but for the time being I needed to get them out of the way). The rest of the boxes hold assorted ribbon and photos.
Now we have the new side desks...
I had a hard time finding desks that would fit in the space. I needed a desk for the sewing machine, Silhouette machine, printer, and space for the laptop. I couldn't find what I needed without buying an expensive custom desk and I didn't want a "built-in" (in case we need this room for a guest room one day), so I purchased 2 small desks from Target.
Here's a closer view of my desk...
I will have to do a separate post one day showing you what's in my drawers. But the cabinets on the hutch hold tons and tons of 3 ring binders where I store my cling mounted stamps.
The white cubbies with the pink bins were purchased at Target. They hold my 6"x6" paper packs, new stamps, and assorted dies and embellishments. The white drawers hold scrap paper, embossing powders and supplies on the right side and on the left side, the drawers hold assorted embellishments.
Under my desk (which is usually hidden by my chair) holds my flowers (in the polka dot bin) and large punches (in the wicker basket). The smaller punches are stored in the middle drawer of the desk. The cord is for my heat embossing tool which stays on the shelf under the desk and then the garbage can.
The drawers on the left of the desk hold assorted embellishments/stickles/pearls, etc, and the bottom left drawer holds hanging file folders with scrap cardstock sorted by SU Color Family. The drawers to the right hold Twinkling H2Os, assorted supplies, and the bottom right drawer holds my Stampin' Up stamps that I can't part with yet.
Next up is my die cutting station...
I've had this TV stand for ages. In fact, I had it before I even met my husband! It's been used for many different purposes over the years including shelving in closets! The drawer on the left holds some 12"x12" scrapbook paper packs and the drawer on the right holds all of the Store's charms. The bins hold all of my Sizzix Dies and Nestabilities. Half of the bins are empty - room to grow!! :-)
This next shot was taken by standing in front of the window looking back at the front door...
The door to the right is the door that leads to the house (actually it's the upstairs family room - which we call the "game room". That's where the kids watch TV and play video games). The door just outside the room is my daughter's bathroom (where I got stung by the scorpion this summer - shutter in pain!!).
The shipping station cabinet was purchased 2 houses ago for the kitchen. In our older Jacksonville home, it was in the breakfast area and held kid's craft supplies (when I had an in-home daycare). In our last home in South Florida, we used it in the Kitchen to hold snacks and dishes (that kitchen was tiny and we needed extra storage cabinets). Our current kitchen has plenty of cabinets and the breakfast area is surrounded with windows so there wasn't any space for this unit in our current kitchen. But it works great as my shipping station.
The bubble wrap is on the floor to the left. That's only half a roll! So when I have a new roll, it's too large to be stored anywhere else! The drawers on the counter hold pre-orders or back-order forms, shipping customs forms, and the free charms that are added to orders. The cabinets below hold shipping envelopes, a garbage can, and other assorted shipping supplies.
The glass cabinets hold books and boxes of cards.
The door to the left is the "Store" aka closet. The wooden cabinet goes to my father's desk, but didn't fit in the current layout. So I placed it in the closet. They hold all of my store's tax records and order forms. That's also where I take photos of my cards in front of the window for natural lighting.
Now inside the closet...
It's hard to photograph this space. It's fairly large at 6'x6'. The window is to the left. The back wall and right wall are lined with storage bins. This is where all of the store's supplies are kept (stamps, paper, embellishments, flowers, etc...) organized by company. The bins are each about 5 feet tall.
I need to get some bins to hold (and hid) the mess on the top shelves. That's just storage of "stuff" I don't have any other place for!!
Now, here are some "Before" and "After" pictures...
The Before pictures are on the left with the After pictures on the right.
In the photo above, you can see that I moved the shelves next to the window and moved the desk to the left.
The photo above is my desk area. As you can see, This is where the shelves used to be on the left. Behind the chair, I had a folding table that I used for the printer, sewing machine, and printer - that was my dis-functional area and the reason why I HAD to rearrange things!
In the photo above, you can see how my desk used to look! Before I bought the white/pink bins, I had assorted bins on my desk trying to hold all of my paper and stuff! It's much more organized now and gives me a much larger space to work.
This was the dis-functional work desk!! As you can see, it was not large enough and I had NO room to work! Now I have a nice long space to work. The sewing machine can be left out to use any time. Plus there is plenty of space for me to put the laptop and work!
That's it! That's the tour! Again, I still need to hang decorative elements on the walls. As soon as I finish that, I will post updated pictures.
Thanks for visiting my room with me!

Oh, my gosh! Lacey! How fantastic!!!! It's beautiful! I can't wait to see the pictures after you decorate the walls. Enjoy your space! I am hoping to get mine (right now I have a corner in our playroom), once my hubby is done with his med. residency and we decide to buy a house after our last move - it's only 2 more years to go ... yay!!!
Hugs,
Michaela

Wonderful space. I can't believe how tidy it is. My space always looks like it exploded. I am still trying to find a method that works for me.

Neat-o! It's a nice room. Everything seems to be in order, and the boxes that keep things organized look cute. It's simple, but it's pretty, and you can easily get some work done there.

You seem to be very organized on designing in each of your rooms. That's great since your room will become more spacious and will make things done quickly and easily. Every room has cabinets, it's nice, and that could also be a form of designing and displaying.
