Happy Weekend!! Yeah!! I had such a rough week...I am so glad the weekend is here! Although, it's a really busy weekend, too.
I am so happy to share this layout for the Scrap and Stamp Saturday challenge!! This week's challenge is Monochromatic! I had planned on using one of my Anya stamps anyway, but I was so thrilled to find out that Monochromatic is the same theme for the Greeting Farm's challenge this week, too!
Anyway, back to Scrap and Stamp Saturday challenge, we have another awesome sponsor this week.
Everything Scrappin' is our sponsor...go check them out here.
On to my layout...
When I first saw the challenge, I really thought it would be a challenge! When I thought about Monochromatic, I thought of all "white", but that's not true...it just means to use one color in different shades, plus a neutral like white or black (I used both).
I instantly thought that my black and white photos from my wedding would be great for this challenge. I sorted through my stack and found these awesome pictures which were already duplicated (scanned and reprinted) so that I didn't actually have to take the photos out of my wedding album.
They had this blue'ish-green tint to the photos, so I thought this MME paper was a great compliment to the photos.
The little girls in the photos are my neices. They were 6 and 5 years old at the wedding...they are now 14 and 13...my how time flies!!
The layout was copied from a layout in one of the Creating Keepsake January 10 edition (pg 31 designed by Brenda Hurd). She had the same color for the background paper, but with a pop of red. I found the layout on her blog (it's the first picture).
Here's a close up the left side...
Here's the right side of the layout...
Here's one of the stamping elements for the challenge...
This sweet Anya is from the Miss Anya Love Collection (which I will be putting on Sale this week - all of the Valentine's Day Stamps will be on sale).
She's embossed in black and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os, then cut out with the Labels 4 Nestabilities. The awesome paperclip was purchased in the office section at Walmart!
I added some additional stamping elements using PTI Vintage Labels. The letters are chipboard, diecut with a sizzix alphabet die, inked with black staz-on, and covered with Glossy Accents (so they are nice and shiny in real life). I think you can see the shine on the "s" in the picture of Miss Anya above.
The flower ribbon is available at my store Stamp and Create.
Now it's your turn to participate with the challenge!! Let's see your best monochromatic layout!! Make sure you link your project to Mr. Linky on the challenge blog!
And make sure to check out the other DT projects as well (links in my sidebar).
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!
