High Hopes Blog Challenge #2

It's time for a new High Hopes Blog Challenge! Every Sunday, the High Hopes Divas will have a new challenge on the High Hopes Blog. In order to play, all you need to do is have a High Hopes Rubber Stamps image.

This week's blog challenge is from Jeanne and is a color challenge: Brown, Blue, Green, and any neutral.

This design was an easy one for me!! A friend of mine needed some Baby Shower invitations and wanted a "Jungle Theme" to go with the baby's nursery bedding. These High Hopes stamps were the perfect match. This card is a continuation of the draft card I made for the shower. I will have to post the actual shower card later. This card is 6" x 5 1/2" and is too large for a shower invitation (at least large enough to require a custom hand-made envelope and I am not able to do that at this time).

 I embossed "Elmer Elephant", " Mike on a vine", and a few "Jungle Leaf Corner" then watercolored them. I use SU inks and an aqua painter then I highlight the areas with the coordinating SU Marker (Tutorial Here). I watercolored some Bashful Blue in the background for the sky and Certainly Celery to create the "ground".

Here is a close up of the image (you can see the reflection of the flash on the embossing...in real life, the embossing adds some wonderful shine when it hits the light...

I matted the image onto Creamy Caramel, then onto "Close to Cocoa", then onto some "Spring Break" DP (retired SU). That was matted onto Chocolate Chip card base. I added some Linen Thread weaved around the left side of the image. Then I added a Dark Chocolate Polka Dot ribbon from Papertrey Ink and added some Kiwi Kiss Buttons (SU). The sentiment is from HH and is embossed in black directly onto the DP.

I love the jungle feel you gave it by stamping the jungle leaves all over like that! Your coloring and colors rock and the polka dot paper looks great with it! I just love this card, Lacey! Loved it so much I case'd your idea with the twine!
