I hope you all are enjoying your summer. It's been busy for us. We've been in and out of town for the past few weeks. First a trip to Destin, FL with the family and then an Anniversary weekend with my husband in Savannah, GA. We are looking forward to being home for a few weeks before our next trip.
Both of my kids play soccer. This is a cute image that resembles my son a little, but my daughter is the goalie in the family. I made this card for my husband for father's day. I used the kids' team colors of Gold, White, and Black.
The image was embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os
Natural Linen, Dreamsicle, Olive Vine, Wintermist Gray, Nutmeg, and Bashful Blue
You can see the shimmer of the Twinkling H2Os and the light shining off the embossing on this picture...
When I saw this stamp, I noticed that the bears were all smiling despite the fact that it was raining.
It make me think of this bible verse...
I (He) will send down showers in season; There will be showers of Blessing. Ezekiel 34:26
Ezekiel 34 is prophecy from God as a warning for those who are selfish and take care of themselves while their "flock" are neglected and "scattered". He says "15 I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord.16 I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak"...23 I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.24 I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the Lord have spoken.
He sends rains in season to make the land fertile which will be a blessing on his people.
This verse basically means that: rains will happen so that blessings can occur.
If you are going through something right now, please know that blessings can come from the pain.
But you MUST use a High Hopes Stamp to enter the challenge. If you don't have a High Hopes stamp, you can find a free digi to use on the Challenge blog.
Here is my card...
Today I am sharing a card I made using an older design. This is called Leapin' Leprechaun. He's one of the stamps available under the "St. Patricks" collection listed on the High Hopes Website under Occasions. I thought it would be perfect to showcase with St. Patrick's Day around the corner. Make sure to check out the other St. Patty's designs as well.
What goes better with Leprechauns than Rainbows and Gold?!
I found some fun paper from My Mind's Eye and used a rainbow of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. A little die cut pieces from Gold glitter card stock to round it off.
The image was embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...
Make sure to join in on the challenge run! The challenge runs through Monday night so you still have some time, but it's running out.
But before we get to this week's challenge, we have a ton of new things happening over at the High Hopes Blog.
The Design Team Call is over and we have 3 new Designers who have joined the team this month. There "might" be a few more added next month, too ;-)
We have moved to a Monthly Challenge. You are welcome to enter the challenge up to 3 times in the month. We hope that the ended time will encourage more participation. If you own High Hopes stamps, come play along! You don't have to have a blog, just upload your card to Splitcoast stampers and use that link to enter your card.
If you don't have any High Hopes stamps to play along with the challenge, that's ok because...We have a FREE Digital Stamp for you to use so that you can play along with the challenges!!!
Sorry I have been so quiet on here. I had an emergancy surgery last weekend to have my gallbladder removed. After a long night of extreme pain (in which I actually thought I was having a heart attack), it was determined that my gallbladder needed to be removed. It was laproscopic so the recovery is fairly easy. Just still a little sore and tired. However, I am back to working as normal.
If you didn't you will probably want to start at the top at the High Hopes' Blog.
As you hop along, make sure to leave a comment at each stop. There is CANDY along the way! But you won't know where. To enter the drawing for the candy, you need to leave a comment on the correct blog ;-)
