Now when you say September 11th, it may not bring many emotions. But when you call it 9/11 (or nine eleven), most Americans can remember the day!! The day that changed the world! Honestly, I think it's the main cause for the current Global economic problems!! The US started with problems after being involved in the war for so long! And when the US is in economic problems, then it's bound to trickle to the rest of the world...we Americans buy a lot of stuff...and Much of it is not from the US.
Anyway, 9/11 changed my life as well. I was actually in my OB/GYN's office at the time and watched the 2nd plane hit the World Trade Center live on TV! I remember it like it was just yesterday! At the time, I was in the doctors office for my annual exam. Scott and I were married only 6 weeks earlier and we talked about starting a family within the year. So, I remember telling my doctor that I would probably be back before my next year's exam. Well, little did I know at the time, that the events of 9/11 would make me realize how short life is...so we chose to start a family earlier than originally planned. I was pregnant with Ansley only 3 months later.
Now if you have been paying attention this week, Ansley's 7th birthday was yesterday on 9/10. She was born via C-Section at 10:01pm! I made it clear to my doctor that I did not want her born on the first anniversary of 9/11!!
But today is not just a day for remembering something sad...it is a day to celebrate as well! Today happens to be my mom and step father's Anniversary! Although you never want to see your own parents end in divorce, it was the best thing that happened to my mom (well, after my siblings and I were born...hehe). I will be honest, my father was not easy to live with!! And when she married my step father, she actually came to life!! Justin is a wonderful, caring, funny man...who can talk your ear off about nothing...but that's another story!LOL But I am VERY happy for my mom!
So, here is the card I made for her. It's late...once again...I make cards, but always forget to send them out in time!!
I used the sketch at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week. The color combo (Ruby, Cream, and Gold was another challenge..can't remember where and I can't find it now LOL) and the "Love" theme was from Stampavie and More challenge LAST week (missed the deadline for posting it)! Oh well!
I dipped the brads and charm in gold embossing powder changing them from silver to gold for the color challenge.
Here's a few other angles...
Well, I have to run...having neighbors over after school to celebrate Ansley's birthday and to start the weekend early! So I have to clean the house!!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!
