Chocolate Camp?!!

Hello stamping friends!!

Well is seems that Ryan's stomach thing is gone - only lasted 1 hour on Monday and caused us to miss the beach. But so far the rest of us seem to be fine. Ansley has a little bit of a stomach ache yesterday, but nothing to keep her from tormenting her brother...or keep her home from Vacation Bible School. 

The kids are enjoying VBS again this year. Ryan says he doesn't want to go...until we pull into the parking lot...then he says "ok, I'll go"! And every time we pick him up, his "teacher" says he was "active"...you have no idea, lady!! LOL

Speaking of active, yesterday we had a busy day. We woke up, got ready, picked up two friends, then met other friends for bowling!! The kids earn free bowling based on their report cards!! We only had to pay for shoe rentals - and my kids' shoes are size 13 or under so they were free!! We only had to pay for our friend's shoes since they were bigger than 13. 

After bowling, we went out for pizza for lunch then on to another fun activity...chocolate camp!! Yep, Chocolate camp!! How awesome is that?!

For $25 each, they get to hand-dip their own treats: Pretzel sticks, oreos, rice crispy treats, lollipop mold, and graham crackers. Plus they get to lick their gloves after they dip each item (yes, they get new gloves and wash their hands in between) AND a cup of gelato ice cream!! 

You guessed, it, I have a ton of pictures and will be scrapping them at some point. But I wanted to quickly show some photos now...

Yes, Ryan still has chocolate all over his face!! I guess I got used to seeing it so I didn't notice it again until we were in a clothing store a little later!! Bad mom!!

Talk about being an "active kid"!! Ryan can control his activity level with 1 thing: Threats - when there is a strong consequence for his behavior, then he can control it. 

But when you add in ANY sugar and forget it!! I call him "Crazy boy on sugar". Do you remember those anti-drug commercials in the 80's...."This is your brain (show an egg), this is your brain on crack (show an egg cooking in a frying pan)". My version is: This is my son...they is my son on sugar...

Take a look at Ryan in the left side of this picture (under the arrow). He's a blurr!! He was literally jumping up and down and couldn't stand still...so much so that I couldn't get a clear picture of him!! LOL

Well, all is good. The dipped treats are home now and I am sure will be eaten or forgotten about soon. Ryan doesn't have much of a sweet tooth so he may only eat 1 or 2 pieces. Ansley, on the other hand, will eat everything within a few days!! 

I will be back in the next day or so with a gift I made my husband in honor of our 10th anniversary last week.

High Hopes Challenge: Thank You Card

Hello stamping friends!

Well, this morning, I woke up to a little surprise...Ryan was sick (stomach thing)! Ug! So instead of going to the beach, we had to stay home. My friend picked up Ansley so she was able to go at least. And luckily it only lasted an hour then he felt fine the rest of the day. In fact, he wanted to go to Vacation Bible School last night. Hopefully that is the end of it and it isn't a virus that moves throughout the house. This weekend we are going to Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, Florida for the 4th of July weekend with some friends. This is our 2nd year going to Hammock Beach for the 4th of July. We had such a great time last year. I just hope the weather holds out as well since there is a chance of rain next weekend.

Today is a new High Hopes Challenge. Lynne is challenging us to make a Thank You card.

This is the sweet Annie's Periwinkles illustrated by Laurie Furnell. The papers are Class of '87 by Kaisercraft. I also added some lace, ric rac, pins, flowers (the middle flower), and pearls.

This was an "end of the school year" card for one of Ansley's teachers so I made it a gift card holder as well...

Magical Monday Challenge: A Sketch

Hello stamping friends!!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. I sure did. Thursday was my 10th wedding anniversary. My husband was out of town for a few days and didn't get home until later that night. Therefore, we decided that we would celebrate our anniversary on Saturday instead. Well, Friday night the kids had a party so that gave my husband and I 4 kid-free hours to spend together. We had a nice dinner at the house then watched our wedding video, our Honeymoon video (we went to Aruba), and a random video of Ansley (my husband just grabbed one from when she was a baby). It was really nice to watch these videos and remember the "old days"! LOL Actually, I cried a few times during the wedding video because of seeing my father :-( In a month, it will be 4 years since my father passed away so it was sad to see him giving me away and our father-daughter dance. Also, my Aunt (my dad's sister), my Grandfather, and my step-grandmother were also on the video and are now no longer with us. But besides missing them, it was fun to watch the wedding again. 

On Saturday, we went to see the Cars 2 movie as a family. Ryan was a HUGE Lightning McQueen fan for years (Lightning has now been replaced with Mario from the Mario Brother's video games). It was a cute movie and we enjoyed it. Of course, the first one was the best, but rarely are sequels better than the original. In the evening, the kids went to a friend's house for a sleep over so that Scott and I could have a nice date night for our anniversary. 

On Sunday we basically did church stuff between our Life Group/Bible Study and church. 

Now today, I am taking the kids to the Jacksonville for a church beach day. It should be fun.

Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge 57: Summertime

I'm sorry this post is late. Last night was my anniversary and I also had friends over for a group vacation planning meeting until 11pm. Then this morning we woke up and went to straight to the beach with 3 other families. I just got home, took a shower, then remember that I didn't finish my post!!

Anyway, it's time for another Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge.

Instead of a card, I created a scrapbook layout from pictures of WnW co-owner Nikki's visit to our house last week...

The layout is a variation of Scrapbook Challenges #258

I created a pull-out journal tag that hides behind the picture of me and Nikki... 

The right side...

The papers are some old SU I found in my stash. The water swirls is a sizzix die. "Fun" was created with Thickers. "in the" was diecut from my silhouette machine. And "Sun" was diecut from a Sizzix alphabet die.

I used WnW Chillin' Out for my image...

the image is embossed in black, watercolored with twinkling H2Os, paperpieced umbrella, cut out and attached with dimensionals.

Happy 10th Anniversary to my awesome husband!!

10 years ago today I married the love of my life! He is my Knight in Shining Armor, my Prince Charming, and my "completion". These past few years have been the best of my life and I wouldn't change it for the world.

I created a special card for Scott using the adorable "I do" couple from The Greeting Farm. I added a keyhole (because he holds the key to my heart), mini roses, other roses, pins, crown,silk ribbon, Bow Easy and pearls. The #10 was die cut from an old cuttlebug set. The paper is MME.

The sentiment was created on the computer...

I('d) do...all over again, and again, and again, and again!!

Here are some pictures of our wedding. They are scanned from the photographer's originals so they are not the best quality (the textured paper the photographer printed them on leave white spots on the scanned copy - this was before everything was digital so the only way I could share them here was to scan them).

And here we are today...

Our unit has grown into a wonderful family (and so have my hips grown ROFL - but I'm working on that)! Poor Ryan looks like he's a deer caught in a headlight!! This picture was taken a few weekends ago at my in-law's 50th Wedding Anniversary in Tennessee.

We figured out that Scott and I will be 82 and 79 at our 50th Anniversary! I look forward to that day :-)

ABC Christmas Challenge: M for Monochromatic

Hello stamping friends!! 

This is our 2nd week of Summer Break and our first Summer week with no guests or travel planned. My kids are going to a Sports camp this week a few days which helps give me chance to have some quiet time to myself - working most of the time. 

I know I promised to share some picture from my special guests this past week, I actually got the pictures printed and started scrapping some of them!! Therefore, I will save them and share them on the layouts. I'll have one to share on Friday for the Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge.

A special Father's Day

Wishing all of the Dads out there a wonderful Father's Day!!

 

My husband is one of the world's best dads!! I hope he has a wonderful day today!

I made him one of his favorite breakfasts - pancakes with peanut butter chips and bananas (a Breakfast fit for a 'King" - Elvis that is). And we are planning on going to the Jacksonville Sun's Baseball Game this afternoon. 

Apparently I need to get our family picture taken more often. The picture above was from December last year - I'm now 12 pounds lighter (although I still have a lot more weight to loose).

Here is a picture that was taken this morning with my friend and former neighbor Barbara...

(As you can see I still have quite a few more pounds to loose)

I will share more pictures tomorrow of my friend's visits this past week.

In the mean time, this is the card I created for Scott for Father's Day...

This is the adorable Father's Day from Popcorn Bear. I used some October Afternoon Campfire DP and Basic Grey Brads. 

I think he liked it!

High Hopes Challenge: Stars and/or Stripes

Hello stamping friends!!

I'm back from our weekend in Tennessee for my In-Law's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a great time. The party was a lot of fun. The younger grandkids (including my kids) stood outside of the clubhouse and greeted the guests as they arrived. All of the guest got a kick out of them. 

The during the party, the kids were dancing on the dance floor. My mother-in-law said that the kids will be the talk of the neighborhood for the next year - which makes her very happy!! 

It was great to see all of the cousins. My kids are the youngest of the group and they just LOVE their cousins. It was too short of a weekend, but our summer is so busy that we had to come home yesterday. It is a 9 hour drive each way so eventhough we were were gone for 4 days, 2 of those was just driving. 

On Wednesday my Wags 'n Whiskers partner Nikki Fairbairn (aka Bunny Zoe) will be coming up from Orlando for the day. They are in the States for "Holidays" and I'm so glad they can come to our new house to hang out. The plan is to hand out at the pool for awhile then we will drive to St. Augustine for dinner at the World Golf Hall of Fame. I hope the weather holds out - the current forecast is 30% chance of rain so I hope we can still go to the pool.

Anyway, it's time for a new High Hopes Challenge.

I actually created this card a month ago for Scott's birthday card...

I thought the adorable "Firefighter Dragon" would be perfect for his 42nd birthday. I love the "Go Ahead" Sentiment that works so well with it. It's one stamp, but I cut it into two. It reads "Go ahead...Light those candles...I dare you"... 

I also used Buddy's Birthday Sentiment and Blazin' Birthday Sentiment on the inside.

Magical Monday & Stamp and Create

Hello stamping friends!
I am currently in Tennessee for my inlaw's anniversary party. Actually by the time this posts, I should be on the long 9 hour drive home.

Before we left, I purchased a new ipad2. I figure it will allow me to work while I have to take the kids to the pool and beach and multiple trips during the summer. However, I am finding out that it is limited as to what I can do with blogger and typepad.

This is my first typepad post using the iPad. And I really hope that I can schedule this post!!

Anyway, this card (which was taken on my iPad) is for both the Magical Monday challenge and Stamp and Create product spotlight.

Rockytop bound...

Well, once again, I'm off on another Summer Trip adventure. 

This time it's my in-law's 50th Wedding anniversary so the family and I are on our way to Tennessee ("Rocky Top you'll always be home sweet home to me") to help throw them a party!! Actually, my sister-in-law is doing most of the work. Anyone else singing that song now? TN is not "home" to me, but it is home to my hubby and his family so it's part of my family now, too.

So, by the time you read this, I will be on a 9 hour drive (fun...not)!!

I bought an ipad2 yesterday but by the time I am typing this, I still haven't gotten it loaded so who knows if I actually have the ipad to play with on my trip!

ABC Christmas Challenge: L for Someone you Love (plus color)

Hello stamping friends!!

Today is the last day of school. It's early dismissal. In fact, they only have school for 2 hours today ?!! What?! Why bother with only 2 hours? I guess they "have" to have school today, but it's such a waste of time. 

We have a VERY busy summer scheduled. In fact, I will be out of town again this weekend - this time with the whole family. We are leaving Friday morning to drive to Tennessee for my in-law's 50th Wedding Anniversary party. We will get to spend the weekend with Scott's family (his sister and brother will also be there with all of the cousins). Then we will drive home on Monday. 

Next week I have 2 out of town guests coming for a visit. Needless to say, it will be crazy trying to get orders packaged up, placing restock orders, and keeping up with DT work...all while the kids are home and under-foot (aka fighting with each other and getting in my way)!!

Therefore, don't be surprised if my posts are short and sweet. I have already gotten a little ahead with some of my DT work so at least that's a little bit of a relief for me.

I am hoping to be able to pick the winner of my vacation candy today. As well as catch up with other work and post pictures from my St. Lucia trip.
