I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far! We had a busy Saturday. Well, Scott had a really busy saturday and I just had a "normal busy" day. Scott first cleaned the pool (even if we can't use it because it's too cold, it still needs to be maintained). Then he painted our bedroom!! Yay!! The previous owners had a Navy Blue bedroom!! I didn't like it at all, but we were just too busy to repaint. We picked out and bought the paint about 2 months ago, but we finally found some time to paint today (now that soccer is over). It is now a creamy milk-chocolately color!! It goes well with our dark wood furniture and cherry wood floors. I bought a new bedspread/quilt in a smokey blue. And we will eventually hang curtains which are Ivory with smoke blue/chocolate stripes...so pretty!! Have I mentioned before that blue/brown is one of my favorite color combos?! Yep, I am sure I have!
My day consisted of vacuming, cleaning 1 bathroom, doing a few loads of laundry, running to home depot (because Scott was going to attempt painting without a tarp to cover the furniture...I don't think so), and mostly keeping the kids out of the bedroom. That is after Ryan was "helping" daddy and ended up putting his hand in the paint bucket!! LOL
Oh, and I managed to get my card done for today's challenge.
So I went with a figerative star...a rock star!!
This is Singing Catrina and she is one of my favorite High Hopes images!! She's so sweet and sassy...just like my little girl.
The card base is SU Bravo Burgandy SC with My Mind's Eye DP (bloom and grow - It's been sitting on my table for awhile now so I keep grabbing it...not to mention it has to be my favorite pack of papers by far)!! I added a 5" paper doily that I inked up with chocolate chip ink.
I added some awesome May Arts Gold Silk Ribbon with a bow made with the Bow Easy. If you don't have any of this silk ribbon you MUST get some!! I carry a few colors in the store with a few more on the way...but OMG this stuff is so soft!!
The image is embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os...
I added a mat using some more MME DP and the new Big Scalloped Oval Large Nestabilities...did you know I have most of the new dies in the store right now?!
Oh, the sketch is fromFriday Sketchers this week...another awesome one I must say!!
I am also entering it in the following challenges:
Stamp Something Challenge: Something Girly
Papertake Weekly: Buttons, Bows, Brads, and Bling (don't think you can get a bigger bow than this)!
Oh, and make sure to check out the rest of the Diva's Star-studed creations (links in my sidebar)!! Sorry, that was lame, but had to be done!! LOL
