Yesterday was my mom's anniversary. 8 years ago, she married a wonderful man. My parents separated a few years earlier. Justin is a very sweet man and he makes my mom so happy.
Well, because my son and I have the sickies this week, the time got away from me and I never mailed her card (she lives in Georgia). I finally had to email her a picture of the card!! LOL
I first created this card for my Stamp Club on monday. We were using the Brayer. I cased this card from Beate, but instead of using a solid CS for the image panel, we brayered it. I absolutely LOVED the card so I just only changed up the colors using what I had available.
I used Chocolate Chip CS for the card base. I added a layer of Baja Breeze stamped with Sanded Background. I sewed that layer onto the card base. In Beate's card, the stiching was paper pierced, but I wanted to try my hand at sewing again.
I added a strip of Whisper White CS that was pierced along the bottom edge.
I added a ribbon from Papertrey Ink because I was low on SU Grosgrain Ribbon so I saved that for my Stamp Club gals.
For the image, I embossed "Upsy Daisy" in black (which is currently on sale). And used my White Gel Pen to highlight the left side of the flowers. Next I brayered Baja Breeze on the top and Bashful Blue on the bottom. Here is an awesome site for brayered cards....she is amazing!!
I matted the brayered layer with Whisper White CS and another layer of Chocolate Chip which I scalloped using the SU Scallop Edge Punch.
For the Sentiment, I used "Love" from Wonderful Words stamped in Chocolate Chip and stamped off Upsy Daisy in Baja Breeze. That was cut out with the Large Oval Punch and matted with Chocolate Chip. SU also carries a Wide Oval Punch that would be nice, but I don't have it yet.
Here is the card we made at the Stamp Club. It was pierced around the edges instead of sewing and uses a different ribbon and one of the sentiments from Upsy Daisy set...
I really LOVE how this card turned out. I know I will be making MANY more of these cards since they are soooo beautiful!
Thanks for stopping by!! And Happy Anniversay, Mom!
