I have been eyeing Women of Life set from Papertrey Ink since they first came out. So when I needed to place an order for their awesome new Dark Chocolate Ribbon, I went ahead and finally ordered the set. I have seen this set used for simple one-layer cards so I knew that's what I wanted to use them for right away.
It's hard to see in the picture, but I embossed the largest Scallop Rectangle Nestability onto Papertrey Stampers Select White CS (maybe if you click on the picture, you can see a larger view...ETA: Apparently my setting are off for clicking on the picture. I have tried to fix the setting but it is not allowing a pop-up window, sorry). Then I stamped the stems in SU Certainly Celery and the flowers in 3 shades of SU pink (Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, and Pretty in Pink).
I made a set of 8 cards with different sentiments and with matching envelopes. I wanted to make something to hold the set so I attempted a "Folder"...I am sure there is a better name for it.
I used a piece of Pink Passion 12 x 12 paper and cut it down to fit the card. I left a 1" center and I added the bottoms to hold the cards. I am sure there is a tutorial out there, but I didn't use one. So, maybe I need to figure out the dimensions I used again and make a tutorial?!
On the outside, I randomly stamped the flower cluster in the same color ink. Then I cut out and embossed one of the rectangles and stamped the image to match the cards. I added some ribbon from Michaels to close it.
This set is awesome because it has many occasions and women in the set. So, each card has a different sentiment (except I used 2 "happy birthdays" since I thought those would be used the most)...
This was a quick and easy set to make. I think it took me less than an hour and I had the make the card folder twice because the dimensions on the first one were not large enough so it should have only taken me just over a half hour to make the whole set.
Thanks for stopping by!
