She wanted one of the purse gift bags with a set of monogrammed cards and a birthday card for each of them. She saw the "Seaside Sketches" stamp set at my house one day and asked if I could make a card with 3 girls instead of the two. "Of course I can"!! So I played around with it and managed to get a clean image (two of them for matching cards). I used a black "spot" to ink up only the 1 girl on the stamp.
She picked out a DP from SU "Ginger Blossom" for her oldest sister and some "Cutie Pie" for the middle sister.
Here are the sets I came up with...
For the first card, I used River Rock as the card base. I wanted to give it a "vintage" look... something you would see in an old scrapbook since she is remembering her and her sisters as little girls. I used "Baroque Motifs" stamped on two corners with Mellow Moss along with "weathered" background stamp in River Rock. I used the double rectangle punch to add a little Whisper White Ribbon knot on the lower corner and a piece from the "Hodgepodge Hardware". To finish it off, I roughed up the edges of the image and inked the edge of the card with Chocolate Chip to weather it a little. I almost added a mat behind the image, but I took it off thinking "more is less" with this design. I tied in the pomegranate color of the monogrammed cards with the gift card through one of the girl's dresses.
The second set is the same design with more bright colors...
For the second card, I used "Certainly Celery" as the card base (I thought the Gable Green of the
monogrammed cards would be too bright for a vintage look so I took it down a little notch with celery). Again, I tied in the color of the monogrammed cards in one of the dresses. The other dresses ties in the pomegranate ribbon and the bashful blue on the purse.
To finish the sets off... some mini chocolates wrapped in coordinating DP!! My friend loved the sets...I hope her sisters do to!! Oh, she also bought a Noah's Arc Book for her nieces.
